Russian and Syrian airstrikes in northwestern Syria throughout the day Thursday.    The increased tempo of airstrikes causing speculation about possible resumption of the ground offensive by Syrian government forces in the greater Idlib area against jihadist and other opposition forces.

Early Friday there were new Russian airstrikes on jihadist positions in the southern Idlib countryside.

Last Tuesday evening at 7 pm sirens went off in southern Israel said to be a false alarm, at Midnight they went off again accompanied by Israeli airstikes on targets in Gaza. but no fire aimed at Israel from Gaza.

Just after 1 pm today sirens were again sounding in the area around Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is saying that Hamas rule in Gaza must overthrown but not promising immediate action as he left for a pre-election trip to Russia and a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

PRESIDENT TRUMP WEIGHING IN SAYING HE DOES NOT BELIEVE THERE IS ISRAELI SPYING ON THE UNITED STATES.

The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sees no point in talking to the United States as long as sanctions are in place.   That's the gist of his conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron Wednesday.

Macron has presented himself as a "mediator" with Iran in recent weeks.

In Washington the House Judiciary Committee voting Thursday along party lines 24-17 to move forward with impeachment hearings.

The committee saying it hopes to decide on recommending impeachment of President Trump to the full House by the end of the year.
