FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 43:  AS MACRON MOVES FORWARD WITH "REFORM" THE PROTESTS CONTINUE WITH THOUSANDS NATIONWIDE INVOLVED

With French President Emmanuel Macron moving forward on his pension reform plans that will create a single national pension system with higher contributions for individuals and lower ones for business, the potential for stronger protests is rising.

As for the Yellow Vests movement, September 7th was billed as a come back from the summer break in France.

Macron is not trusted on the pension issue by 70 percent of those polled.    Its a plan to raise the retirement age to 64 from 62 and a continuation of policies to tax people more to pay for the welfare state while cutting taxes for business and wealthy individuals in the name of economic stimulation and competitiveness in the world economy.

The gasoline taxes that triggered last year's protests were ostensibly "green" but in reality they served the same purpose of taking the tax burden away from business and shifting it onto the general population.

The notion that business comes before environmental concerns reinforced by word going into the Newsdump Weekend that pesticide use in France will be allowed within distances ranging between 15 and 30 feet of schools and homes.  Environmental activists and the EELV environmentalist party expressing their opposition to the plans.

In the end thousands did emerge to protest on the streets of France today, but still not the super huge numbers at the height of the movement in the early months.

From France's mainstream media this story as Google translated from BFM-TV Friday:

"A 69-year old man, who sympathizes with the yellow vests, was sentenced Friday in Montauban to a four-month suspended prison sentence for having affixed the back of his van a poster 'suicide cop, half-forgiven'."

He's also paying 'damages' of more than 11-hundred dollars to a union representing police officers in France, prosecuted for:

"insulting persons with public authority"

47 police suicides reported in 2019 with the long hours police worked dealing with Yellow Vests protests in the mix.

There was little extra pay being given to them with much stress and strain in the ranks of the police.

On the streets the protest of the Yellow Vests continued in northern France at Lille today.....LILLE WEEK 43 YELLOW VESTS.....650 reported protesting by police, 1500 by the Yellow Vests.

And a video of the Yellow Vests in Toulouse today where the mainstream media-government reporting cites several hundred involved......YELLOW VESTS TOULOUSE WEEK 43

Some 250 Yellow Vests reported marching in Dijon today.

Adding up the estimates from cities and towns named today in this story alone (there were 120 locations involved in total last Saturday) the low end estimate is five thousand Yellow Vests today with eight thousand if the Yellow Vests own estimates are accurate.

Bring in those hundred plus other protests across France and one gets the sense with no official numbers yet  from the Yellow Vests that there could very well have been 15-20 thousand dedicated people out protesting today following the summer slowdown in France.

(ADDITIONAL NOTE:  THE 'YELLOW NUMBER' FACEBOOK PAGE REPORTED 16,307 PARTICIPANTS AT 157 LOCATIONS IN FRANCE SATURDAY)
