NEWS SUMMARY-INTELLIGENCE REPORT TUESDAY 9/10/2019

John Bolton is gone as National Security Adviser with reported disagreements between himself and President Trump.


Bolton's deputy Charles Kupperman has taken over the post as acting National Security Adviser.


President Trump at odds with Bolton on policy with Bolton considered too "hawkish" when the President preferred a more moderate approach.



Two Republican wins in North Carolina Special Elections for congressional seats.


In a rerun of a 2018 Congressional contest nullified over irregularities Republican Dan Bishop the winner 51-49 percent over Democrat Dan McCready for the 9th District.


The other contest was an election for the seat of the late Republican Congressman Walter Jones.


Republican Greg Murphy winning easily there with about 62 percent of the vote.


President Trump held a campaign rally in North Carolina Monday night ahead of the voting.


In Gaza overnight Israeli airstrikes on 15 targets following rocket fire aimed at Israel.


One area targeted the port city of Ashod where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was starting to make a campaign speech.    He was taken off the stage.

The focus of Netanyahu's public pronouncements in recent days has been Iran.


But now Netanyahu is making  a commitment concerning sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, the "West Bank", as he scrambles for votes just one week before an election that will be followed by the process of Israel's Attorney General indicting him in three corruption cases.


Netanyahu will also make a pre-election trip to Russia Thursday meeting President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.


The leader of the Iranian backed Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah, says that any act of war against Iran is an act of war against Hezbollah.    Nasrallah speaking today saying that "war plans" against Iran will "ignite the region".



He added that war against Iran will:



"be the end of Israel and the American hegemony and presence in the region"

The United States isn't planning sanctions on Russia's state oil company Roseneft for doing business with Venezuela, at least not yet.


That's the word from US Special Representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams in a telephone briefing Tuesday.

The former British Ambassador to the United States who resigned after his comments critical of the Trump Administration were revealed in July is now a lord.

Former Prime Minister Theresa May nominated Kim Darroch to the peerage which enables him to join the House of Lords.



Sarah Palin's husband Todd has filed for divorce.       Papers were filed in court in Anchorage, Alaska Friday with the initials and dates pointing to who was involved in the case.

Joint custody of their 11 year old son Trig is also mentioned in the filing along with a fair division of assets and debts.

And another election note from Israel.  A prominent donor to Benjamin Netanyahu in the past is supporting the leading woman in Israeli politics this time around.

Australian mining magnate Rabbi Joseph Gutnick calling on Israeli voters to support the "Yamina" Party led by Ayelet Shaked.    Yamina is running strong in polls picking up around 10 seats in the 120 seat Knesset.
