NEWS SUMMARY-INTELLIGENCE REPORT SUNDAY 9/22/2019



A military base of the Iranian supported Popular Mobilization Units attacked in Iraq's Al-Anbar Province early Sunday morning.     The attack said to have been launched by an "unknown warplane".


There are sources pointing to Saudi Arabia's involvement in the attack.

TURKISH PRESIDENT RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN SPOKE WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP ON SUNDAY.  ERDOGAN IS  IN NEW YORK FOR THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY.   THEY  DISCUSSED REGIONAL AND BILATERAL ISSUES.


Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says a "Hormuz Peace Initiative" will be presented at the United Nations in the coming days.    The Strait of Hormuz is the entrance to the Persian Gulf.   Rouhani spoke at a military parade marking the 39th anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq War.

U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying the US is trying to deter with its military reinforcements to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and ultimately seeks a diplomatic solution.


Iran releasing the British oil tanker "Stena Imperio" Sunday.   The Iranians seized the tanker on July 19th.


Political polling in Canada following the revelations about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wearing blackface.     The trend of the competing polls is a loss of support for the Liberal Party.    One poll puts the main opposition Conservative Party ahead by a wider margin and the other shows a smaller lead for the Liberal Party.


A poll that suddenly appeared today showing a tie at 33 percent each for the Liberal and Conservative Parties in Canada.    Opposition to the left split between the New Democats and Green Party and the People's Party of Canada, a populist group, gets five percent of the vote.


Tonight a new "Mainstreet Research" poll showing a switch from its previous polls that gave the Liberals the edge.


Now Mainstreet Research puts the Conservatives at 34.8 percent, the Liberals at 33.9 percent, the New Democratic Party at 11.4 percent, the Green Party at 10.7 percent, the Bloc Quebecois at 4.9 percent and the People's Party of Canada at 3.6 percent.


Election Day in Canada is Monday October 21st.


Israeli politics and the maneuvering over formation of a new government in full swing.   Avigdor Lieberman of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party says he isn't supporting Benjamin Netanyahu or Benny Gantz for Prime Minister and he's urging Gantz not to bring the Joint Arab List which holds 13 seats as the country's third largest party into the government.


The Joint Arab List today endorsed Benny Gantz of the Blue and White Party as Israel's country's next Prime Minister.



A lawyer for Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says there are no plea bargain or amnesty discussions going on in the corruption cases against him.

 A statement on behalf of Attorney Ram Caspi says arguments will be presented at the pre-indictment evidence review hearing scheduled for next month in the three corruption cases.

is part of the headline in the "Miami Herald" as it reports on Jeffrey Epstein.


The latest reporting details the network of support for Epstein's activities involving young women and girls including doctors and dentists.


Also in the story the legal fight involving legal scholar Alan Dershowitz who's targeting high-profile lawyer David Boies.    Boies represents Epstein accuser Virginia Guiffre who says she was ordered to have sex with Dershowitz and is suing him for defamation.   Another woman has also claimed she was forced to have sex with Dershowitz who denies the allegations.


Dershowitz will be in court Tuesday with a motion to have Boies and his law firm removed from representing Guiffre.

Democracy movement protests continued in Hong Kong Sunday with a major shopping center the site of a demonstration.

Banners unfurled protesting police violence against democracy protesters.   Riot police aimed pepper spray at the demonstrators and the New Town Plaza shopping area was closed.

Tear gas was used on democracy protesters in the streets around the shopping area.

Chinese flags were stomped on and thrown in a river.

A 13-year old girl arrested Saturday for burning a Chinese flag reported to have been granted bail today.


Protests all over France on Saturday with climate change activists and opponents of pension reform plans of President Emmanuel Macron.    The Yellow Vests rallying across the country and the anarchists fighting police on the streets of Paris.


Tourists in Paris said they were tear gassed and pushed by the French riot police.    Speaking in English, one man said the gas was put directly into his face.   More in French from BFM-TV....LINK

President Trump in Houston Sunday joining the visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an event billed as "Howdy Modi".    The President posting some video highlights on Twitter.....LINK
