NEXTRUSH UNPLUGGED:  REMEMBERING AND VACATIONING AND SOME NOW NEWS

Music Link:

Been on the road and sitting at a truckstop eating lunch the other day hearing Dolly Parton singing that song on the loudspeakers took me back to growing up and that one thing I always think about when it comes to Dolly Parton.

Indeed, that voice, that glorious voice that could wax so sad and heartbroken at times.

Nebraska this week on my itinerary taking me all the way from York, PA to York, NE.

I spent some time in Cass County, Nebraska this week and that's home to the Strategic Air Command Museum, a museum focused on matters aerospace including some special ones connected to the landing on the Moon 50 years ago.   Plenty of SAC related aircraft like strategic bombers on display and others too from the past.

But a dozen miles east of that museum lies the town of Louisville where some history was made over 35 years ago when there was a dispute over Christian schools in Nebraska.     I was in religious media at the time and did some extensive reporting including talking to people involved from then like the man who was then District Attorney, Ron Moravec.

The pastor of the small congregation at Faith Baptist Church was Everett Sileven.    He spoke around the country coming east and I met him in person helped with some secular media interviews etc. etc.

He changed his name to Everett Sileven Ramsey and wrote up the history of what happened and posted it online.

You can see it at the link.....HERE

Also in the here and now a rate reduction from the Fed is not enough for President Trump, but of course he has been calling for it.

Well, they gave him one ahead of the 2020 re-election campaign.

In Japan the rate is something like zero so perhaps the President has been getting input from his close friend Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The US imposes sanctions on Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and his family and Zarif is mocking it.

From France the Inspector General of the National Police report publicized Tuesday saying that police use of tear gas, flash bang and grenade rounds on the crowd at a music festival in Nantes last month was an appropriate use of force.

The report acknowledges that police use of force caused from eight to 14 people to fall into the Loire River, but also claims that three fell in the river before their attack on the festival.

When the attack occurred at around 430 am June 22nd Steve Maia Canico disappeared.    His body was recovered from the river Monday.

France's Prime Minister Edouard Philippe followed up by calling for a new investigation to clear up "confusion" about what happened.

NEXTRUSH UNPLUGGED:  VACATION EDITION FROM KELOLAND STILL WONDERING ABOUT FREE A$AP ROCKY???????

Music Link:

The vacation season continues in wide open spaces like those I've been seeing in a place I decided to describe with the media reference to "KELOLAND" coined by KELO in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

This state associated with Democrats like two candidates that ran for President and lost.   Hubert Humphrey born here as well as George McGovern.

But I've just come from Iowa where there are plenty of Democrats running for President and you see them on the local news, signs along highways in the Des Moines area.   When I was online in Iowa Tom Steyer ads popped up all over.

Here in South Dakota there are plenty of motorcycles on the roads with Sturgis the ultimate destination in the days ahead.

A charity ride set for August 7th with Sarah Palin as a special guest.    I saw this video on television while I ate dinner earlier tonight.

Not here to be distracted by all the online rage but observations looking back at the last week as I've traveled across the heartland and seen some things along the way.

To start this week's Yellow Vests coverage some notes about investigations into police wrongdoing.

A public prosecutor in Toulon reported opening an investigation into a January incident there when a police commander hit a person on the sideline of a Yellow Vests protest.

A video posted about that incident......LINK

But the investigation by the Inspector General of France's National Police ended over the treatment of students during a mass arrest December 6th, 2018 at a school in  Mantes-la-Jolie.

There were many student protests in the early days of the Yellow Vests and here students were forced to kneel with hands above their heads or handcuffed, some against a wall after 151 of them were arrested.

It was already being said in May by police leadership that police did nothing wrong in that incident.

A video posted this morning of some yellow painting along a highway that is the route of the "Tour de France" bicycle race.

One is the letters "GJ" for "Gilets Jaunes" or "Yellow Vests".     Another says "Steve" remembering the man missing after a police tear gassing incident in Nantes in June when "Steve" fell into the Loire River.  The video link below:

The Iranian Foreign Minister pointing at outside forces being behind the British seizure of an Iranian oil tanker off Gibraltar earlier this month that led to Iran's seizure of a British oil tanker Friday.

Javad Zarif tweeted this Sunday in part:

"......Having failed to lure @realDonaldTrump into War of the Century, and fearing collapse of his #B_Team, @AmbJohnBolton is turning his venom against the UK in hopes of dragging it into a quagmire..."

Zarif's tweet in full is here......LINK

The other "B Team" members as Zarif sees it besides Bolton are Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and United Arab Emirates Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.

The former leader of Britain's Conservative Party, Iain Duncan Smith, said the capture of the "Stena Imperio" tanker was a "major failure" in an interview with the BBC.

A former British First Sea Lord Admiral Alan West has told the BBC that the current Conservative Party government should have been more prudent in protecting British ships after the Iranian tanker was seized by British Royal Marines off Gibraltar on July 4th.

The Battle of Brexit and the contest to be the next British Prime Minister is drawing to a close.

Monday at 5 pm UK time the voting among some 160-thousand Conservative Party members ends to choose a new leader.

The winner announced Tuesday and current Prime Minister Theresa May speaks to the House of Commons and resigns Wednesday in favor of the new Prime Minister.

The contest between current Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and former Foreign Secretary and Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

Johnson widely expected to be the winner.

With that in mind a prominent cabinet minister Philip Hammond, who is Chancellor of the Exchequer told the BBC Sunday he intends to resign his post before Mrs. May does in disagreement with Boris Johnson's view that Brexit must come by October 31st "do or die".

Hammond claims it's going to take longer to obtain a Brexit deal with the European Union and that the notion of a "No Deal" Brexit is unacceptable.

In Hong Kong some 430-thousand protested against the bill to extradite Hong Kong residents to the Chinese mainland Sunday as the pro-democracy, anti-Beijing movement continues.

The main protest rally in the afternoon was at Victoria Park.

Later in the night pro-democracy protesters attacked by masked men with sticks at a subway station as they went home from the protest.     Dozens taken to hospitals after the attack and the latest reports are that 45 were injured.  The BBC reports.....LINK

Who is behind all that remains a mystery?   Other mysterious events surrounding the protests this weekend included police discovering explosives Saturday ahead of the Sunday protest and the egging and spray painting of a Chinese government office early Sunday morning.

Strong suspicion must lie with the Chinese government and its operatives.

Elections on Sunday.

First, Ukraine and the political party of the recently elected President Volodymyr Zelensky winning a majority of seats in parliamentary elections.

The "Servant of the People" party winning 44 percent of the popular vote but still needing another of the four parties that cleared a five percent threshold of votes to form a government.

FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 36:  THE SATURDAY AFTER THE BASTILLE DAY PARIS PROTEST, HUNDREDS MARCH IN MONTPELLIER, "WHERE IS STEVE" PROTEST IN NANTES

In general there were fewer protesters last weekend for Week 35 protests on Saturday but the interactive map shows dozens of locations nonetheless.

Sunday (Bastille Day) a protest emerged in Paris first mentioned on social media Saturday.

The first visible sign of the protest was when some in the crowd who began to jeer and offered up boos as President Emmanuel Macron reviewed troops in Paris near the Champs-Elysees Sunday morning.

They displayed yellow balloons and in some cases yellow clothing as police had seized Yellow Vests as spectators entered a security zone around the holiday ceremonies in the center of the city.

Later after the parade a full fledged protest on the Champs-Elysees with fires started and metal barriers toppled onto the street, the apparent work of the "black blocs" of anarchists.

Now we come to Week 36 of the protest in the summertime, in the vacation season in France.

Jerome Rodrigues of the Yellow Vests on Twitter talking about a ski resort in southern France's Pyrenees Mountains Friday.    La Mongie appears to be the site of something today with a Yellow Vests car said to be present there today, among other things.

And Ruptly promoting the start of its video stream from Paris at Noon local time Saturday, 6 am Eastern in the US.

They say today's protest encompasses Yellow Vests and a nationwide campaign against police violence started following the death of a man arrested by police in 2014.

(815 AM EASTERN)

We now have this live stream video from the Yellow Vests protest in Paris....

Yellow Vests also faced off with police on motorcycles in Pau located in the Pyrenees in southwestern France today.....LINK

The "Tour de  France" bicycle race is in the Pyrenees today and Jerome Rodrigues promoting protest in that part of France yesterday one wonders about the connection between the two.

One thing that did materialize Saturday was this protest along the route of the bicycle race with Yellow Vests along the highway.......LINK

The protesters always mentioning the policies of Emmanuel Macron in their actions chanting for his resignation.

Today President Macron appeared before a group of people in the Pyrenees where he is at the Tour de France race with many questions on their mind about incidents like the disappearance of "Steve" after police intervened at a music festival in Nantes last month.

Steve Maia Canico was one of a group of people who fell in the Loire River at around 430 am when police employed tear gas to break up the music festival on June 21st.    He has not been seen since and no body has been found.

Macron saying:

"The calm must return to the country"

among other things.

A hot day in France with near 100 degree temps in many places and traffic jams as well as vacation season is underway.

The Ruptly video stream became active around 9 am Eastern US time this morning.

It appears that Montpellier in the south of France was a center of protest today with some 600 Yellow Vests and 50 "black blocs" anarchists reported by the media marching in the streets to a banner that was Google translated (LANGUAGE WARNING):

"It's going to fart"

Demonstrators also shouting:

"Where's Steve"

in reference to the man who disappeared in Nantes on June 21st after police intervention at a music
event.

In the end a confrontation on the sidelines of the protest with three police reported injured as tear gas was used on the protesters.

"Where is Steve?" was the theme of a protest by people dressed in white in Nantes on Saturday as well.    They gathered along the bank of the Loire River.

So to sum up plenty of peaceful events involving people in Yellow Vests throughout France for Week 36.    The "Yellow Number" Facebook page not totaling up any numbers for July and August protests but planning an interactive map that will come out on Sunday.

That's the story of the Yellow Vests for now.

NEXTRUSH UNPLUGGED:  SATURDAY NIGHT VERSION MAN ON THE MOON PLUS 50

There it is the song that shot up to Number One position, probably the right song for the right time 50 years ago today.

A vision of the future from Zager and Evans,  "In the Year 2525".

I remember only a handful of popular songs from the 1960's but this one stood out for its stark message of humanity being absorbed in science and technology.

Perhaps a song too close in a sense to the truth we live today.

The story of 50 year ago today the landing on the Moon.

Where do we go next.....Freedom of Speech.....

I grew up watching the Fairness Doctrine in action aimed at the Right from the Republican controlled Federal Communications Commission.

In the days of Richard Nixon "right-wing" radio preacher Dr. Carl McIntire had his radio station shut down for the crime of wanting a military victory in the Vietnam War.

The liberals complained to the FCC about his radio station being one sided and for its purposes the Nixon FCC took the radio station off the air.

Back in the Nixon days the MSM targeted with a Fairness Doctrine complaint against NBC News over a pensions documentary that got watered down a bit on court appeals with NBC's lawyers and deep pockets helping.

In the modern day, in the here and now, it isn't just conservatives who are being shut down on social media.

Read this about  the Twitter shutdown of a feed supporting Wikileaks founder Julian Assange....

History repeats itself but seriously the radio preacher back then coined a phrase and it works in the cyber age were are in.

"Freedom is everybody's business"

On the Left, the Right, we are all targets for the government, political, business establishment etc.

The lesson demonstrated vividly Thursday night at Belmarsh Prison in London where Tommy Robinson is imprisoned for exercising his free speech.

Another prisoner brought into the cell above his followed by a conversation out the windows.

The other prisoner Tommy talked to none other than Julian Assange, Wikileaks founder, jailed for exposing the dark side of the war in Iraq fought by the American military for the sake of Saudi Arabia it appears to me.  Lets honor those who served but not put our heads in the sand about what was really going on in the end.

TOMMY ROBINSON UPDATE:  TOMMY TALKS TO FELLOW PRISONER JULIAN ASSANGE

The word coming out of Belmarsh Prison in London is that it's two most famous prisoners ended up close enough in their solitary confinement cells to speak to each other.

Danny Tommo, who's been a channel of communciation for Tommy Robinson to the outside world, tweets that a prisoner was moved into a cell above Tommy and it was none other than Julian Assange.

Robinson and Assange communicated with each other through the outside windows.

What might Assange and Robinson have in common?     Consider this.   A Twitter feed supporting Assange was recently shut down but re-opened after protest.   The censorship moves in more directions that one online.....LINK

If the prison authorities have any sense, they would keep the political prisoners in separate cells from the jihadists and killers inside the walls of Belmarsh.

But putting these prisoners together with the convicted criminals in the worst cases reminds of how Western nations like the UK are drifting into the status of Gulag nations like Stalin's.

It would have been neat to have listened to their conversation but I'm sure someone else is, if you know what I mean.

NEXTRUSH UNPLUGGED: SUMMER EDITION THE TRUMP METHOD, JEFFREY EPSTEIN AND MORE

It was Boris Johnson who's real name isn't Boris, it's actually "Al" as Peter Hitchens often points out , who has made an observation regarding the President of the United States.

The observation is simply that there is a "method to his madness".

Why broach the notion of four Democrats in Congress needing to return somewhere?

So the POTUS would be attacked, so Donald Trump could get in a fight with them and bring the four Democrats to the forefront.

And the President did turn things around a bit to say that 'the Squad' of Democrats were haters of America, haters of Israel, Communists and racists, among other things.

DJT channels Merle Haggard's sentiments that he got to sing at Richard Nixon's White House back in 1973.   It was filmed in fact on March 17, 1973 and is part of the collection of the Nixon Library,  you see the Osborne Brothers at the start, then Merle Haggard singing those songs from back then.....LINK

He used Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton or Barack Obama as foils to anger voters but these four have lousy polling numbers compared to Donald J. Trump.

Demonizing people also distracts emotions from the President's impotence in getting the millions in this country illegally out and from his potential signature on a bill to allow 300-thousand people from India to take tech jobs from Americans.

It has bipartisan support in Congress, its passed the House and now has to get through the Senate.

The opposing party is demonized at election time, the tried and true tactics of the GOP and the Democrats to mask their ultimately moderate policies.    The moderate policies of the major parties that do not satisfy their core voters.

Use rage and anger in your core voters to distract from failure to deliver on authentic Conservative or Constitutional policy.

When is the budget being balanced in this country?

When are the prisoners being pardoned starting with Jerry Delemus, co-chair of the New Hampshire Veterans Coalition for Trump in 2016?

Plenty of justice waiting in connection with the wrongful prosecutions in Nevada over Bunkerville and over the Oregon Standoff as well.

FEDERAL PROSECUTORS STILL PROSECUTE, THEY HAVE NOT BEEN PUNISHED FOR THEIR WRONGDOING. IN LAS VEGAS OR PORTLAND.   THE POTUS PUT THE US ATTORNEY IN PORTLAND BILLY WILLIAMS THERE PERMANENTLY AFTER HE PROSECUTED AND PERSECUTED THE OREGON STANDOFF PARTICIPANTS.

I'm not a fan of anger and rage and trashing people and there's a story about a man forced to resign from his position as a Conservative Party local council member over in the UK.

Two things:

1.  He called people on welfare in the UK "rotten pond life families that should be sterilized and washed".

2.  He called for an experiment at the local council with gender neutral restrooms.

But its neither of the above that led to his resignation.

The music links there for you and Tom T. Hall offers his version of "Harper Valley PTA" Tom being the writer of that hit song by Jeannie C. Riley from 1968.

Getting back to reality the nation is deep in debt, too much spending going on and its been going on since the 1960's and for decades the USA has certainly been tied into nations with money in the Middle East.

During that first Gulf War, that Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm period.....The United States and other nations paid by the wealthy nations to provide military power, these wealthy Muslim nations.

And some interesting sidelights to the war included the Christmas carols being played on the armed forces radio without lyrics in 1989 and of course the prohibition on women entertainers at Christmas as well.

Islamic standards being adhered to in the days of President Bush 41.

Of course in the 1990's Bill Clinton came along continuing to pound at Saddam Hussein, the enemy of Saudi Arabia, from time to time symbolically it was argued by the GOP.

But Clinton would get the USA involved to help Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo joining with military force in the end against Serbia.

Iraq dealt with decisively, the enemy of Saudi Arabia, following 9/11 committed by an organization led by a Saudi and with 15 of the 19 hijackers Saudi citizens.   George W. in the lead.

And we go fast forward through all the wars from Libya to Syria to the tensions with Iran and yes Gulf Arab money involved and jihadists being bankrolled all the way and the USA and Western Europe leaning the Saudi way on those issues.

Barack Obama getting trashed for not being friendly enough or supportive enough of this agenda.  Biden showed up first instead of Obama when the Saudi king died oh my!

Now the drama over Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar (Burma) and Mike Pompeo's latest blast at the government there over the treatment of its Muslim minority.

Myanmar says its fighting terrorism but the USA doesn't see it that way.

Read for yourself what Pompeo is saying and you read "ethnic cleansing" just like the 1990's in the Balkans being used in his statement.

MIKE POMPEO STATEMENT ON MYANMAR 'GROSS HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS ROHINGYA MUSLIMS

You read news stories you read about the Rohingya being Muslims.   That is omitted in the State Department statement.

Reminds me that Glenn Beck took a swipe at the Myanmar government on his radio show Tuesday over treatment of Christians in that country.   An attempt to draw everyone into this.   Follow the money trail?

Who is the President of the United States right now?   Is he the one who did the sword dance with the Saudi leaders in May of 2017?...LINK

And yes the POTUS has been a consistent defender of doing business with Saudi Arabia no matter what.  He talks about the billions sold to them.

SAUDI ARABIA AND ITS GULF ARAB NEIGHBORS  IN THE HEART OF ISLAM AND THE AL QAEDA MOVEMENT HAVE MONEY AND THE UNITED STATES DOESN'T, THAT'S BOTTOM LINE REALITY AND DOES IT PLAY INTO THE FOREIGN POLICY OF THE USA, TRADE POLICY ETC. ETC.?

'BIG BAD JOHN'-JIMMY DEAN

Back with you and a Jeffrey Epstein segment.   I'll try to keep the focus on information and you can take it and form your own conclusions.

One, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office trying to help Jeffrey Epstein.   Under that plea deal in Florida he had to register as a sex offender in places he lived like New York.

The office of Manhattan DA trying to get Epstein registered as a lower level sex offender and a judge wondering why?

This story I saw for the first time today.  It was published by CNN.

MANHATTAN DA ON SEX OFFENDER STATUS OF EPSTEIN

Another story like that one on the notion of Jeffrey Epstein being protected by people in high places...

THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT KNEW ALL ABOUT THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN FLORIDA PLEA DEAL

And from Israel former Prime Minister Ehud Barak trying to campaign ahead of Israel's second general election this year on September 17th with the cloud of Jeffrey Epstein over him and his attempt to win seats for his new political party.

Barak wants people to know that he met with Epstein without women being present and he's reportedly going to launch a lawsuit against the UK's "Daily Mail" for implying he and Epstein were with women during their meetings.

But the story of Barak and Epstein and money is still on the table for sure.    "Israel National News" earlier this week published this story with Barak's spin on his relationship with Epstein as expressed in an interview with "The Daily Beast".....

BARAK ADMITS VISITING EPSTEIN'S INFAMOUS PRIVATE ISLAND-ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS

Also from Israel Rabbi Rafi Peretz Minister of Education backing away from his comments last Saturday about gay conversion therapy.    His comments called "unacceptable"by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Most of the story behind the paywall on the "Haaretz" website but you can get the gist of the backdown....LINK

Bloomberg keeps track of billionaires worldwide and Bernard Arnault, a Frenchman, is now number two in wealth surpassing Bill Gates with the Arnault fortune at 108 billion dollars.

Arnault chairs the LVMH concern that sells stuff like Luis Vuitton handbags and what not....

Jeff Bezos still on top at 125 billion dollars.

Send your money to Chelsea Manning to help as the fine against her is now up to 1000 thousand dollars a day for refusing to testify before a grand jury as the federal prosecutors try to dig up the story of the relationship with Julian Assange that Manning had.

SUPPORT CHELSEA MANNING'S LEGAL DEFENSE

I think we need to see the outsiders as the ones we support, at least that's my theory so Tommy Robinson, Roy Moore and yes, Chelsea Manning, the Bundys and so on......

We are all in this together and the moderates and the wealthy and the tech giants and the D's and R's are not for us, We the People, if you will.

Manning was uncovering bad policy in the Iraq War, a war fought for Saudi Arabia, as I mentioned earlier.

I'm not here to diss those who serve our country.   But by God can I diss the fact that our soldiers were turned into mercenaries for the Heartland of Islam and Al Qaeda as I see it pre and post- 9/11, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia et al......

In the here and now its terrorism the mastermind of the Mumbai terrorist attack 166 killed, 300 wounded arrested in Pakistan with praise from President Trump but it turns out Lindsey Graham is in the picture and the Pakistani Prime Minister getting the welcome mat in Washington next week raising eyebrows from India.

Hafiz Saeed finally arrested but able to roam freely for the last ten years without that happening to him.    They knew where he was but didn't choose to arrest him and the "Times of India" offers its analysis.

INDIAN ANALYSIS OF TERRORIST MASTERMIND ARREST PRAISED BY PRESIDENT TRUMP

Moving on from India's concerns over that horrible terrorist attack and the need for justice over it President Trump next week will be dealing with the leader of the nation that created and runs the Taliban in Afghanistan.   Pakistan facilitated the Taliban takeover which in turn provided Al  Qaeda with its base of operations pre-9/11.

Peace talks under way with the Taliban involving a US representative and the Taliban talking face to face.   Progress reported there in recent days.

Other here and now Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman sentenced by a federal judge in New York to life in prison plus 30 years.   The Mexican drug boss being sent to a prison in Colorado reportedly.

The Hammonds being pursued by the environmentalists in Oregon and a judge granting a partial temporary restraining order to restrict their ability to graze on federal lands in eastern Oregon.

So much in that including the fact that the Hammonds are 'in the system' accepting federal control of the land as pointed out by the Bundy family who did so much to let the world know about their plight and change things and in forcing action to pardon them.

And God Bless the memory of LaVoy Finicum who gave his life so that the Hammonds would be free.

I'm reading the autobiography of the man who was at Dr. Martin Luther King's side during the Civil Rights Movement.

Reverend Ralph Abernathy wrote about how a President of the time, John F. Kennedy, dealt with the Civil Rights issue during the protests in Albany, Georgia in 1962 that ended up being a setback:

"So no sustained pressure forced President Kennedy to enter the fight on our behalf.  He was able to do precisely what he had wanted to do all along:  toss us a few rhetorical bones and concentrate on items more important to the New Frontier--like a tax cut to spur the economy."

It took the struggle at Birmingham to change things in 1963 and to get attention from political leaders including Donald J. Trump history teaches one must be willing to do what the Bundy's did in Nevada and Oregon.  Stand up and take a stand for justice nonviolently breaking the law just like Martin Luther King and Ralph Abernathy did in their day.
