YELLOW VESTS WEEK 34:  SUMMER MODE

With protests moving into the summer, summer in France is of course of a time for vacations and disruption of normal routines.   As we look at the numbers coming in from the protests Saturday July 6th we may have to take that into consideration.

Meanwhile, there's an investigation by the inspector general of France's National Police into the death of an elderly man in his 80's. Zineb Redouane, near the scene of a Yellow Vests protest last December.

There's already visual evidence of CRS riot police firing tear gas at the building in which he lived and of Redouane shuttering his window as the tear gas projectile hit him in the face.  He died two days after the December 1st incident.

Five CRS officers had tear gas launchers in the vicinity of the building and they have all testified before the investigation that they have no recollection of what is pictured and cannot recognize who is firing the projectile.

A lawyer for Redouane's daughter says:

"The shooting trajectory clearly shows that this policeman is aiming at the building"

The best way to sum things up by evening in France is that protests are limited in the midst of summer.

But the "Yellow Number" Facebook does show an interactive map with dozens of Yellow Vests gatherings across France on Saturday.

Mainstream media  reporting mentions  hundreds protesting in Paris, 400 in Toulouse, a hundred in Bordeaux and 180 in Nancy.
