NEXTRUSH UNPLUGGED: SUMMER EDITION

One of my favorite groups, the Fifth Dimension, with a song from 50 years ago 1969.
This week so much about landing on the Moon 50 years ago which we remember this coming weekend.
Apollo 11 blasted off on July 16, 1969 all the mainstream media of the time focused on it with "Uncle Walter" Cronkite of CBS, Chet Huntley, David Brinkley and Frank McGee leading the pack at NBC and Frank Reynolds fronting the less viewed ABC coverage. The other two had bigger ratings in their news operations.
ABC played back the July 16th, 1969 coverage in a condensed five minute segment and here's a clip of that:
At best the much heralded Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids would only round up 2,000 of the millions in this country illegally.
There's been so much hype and so little evidence of any actions taking place, activity at ICE facilities and so on.
I used to watch and maybe some of you have watched the President's friend Vince McMahon on television over the years leading the audience one way, then the other way and then back to the first thing and so on etc. etc. etc.
The wrestling show, the WWE show just seems to be going on and on We don't get literal enforcement of the law.
But the show can revolve around personalities and trashing personalities to keep your attention while there are no raids going on, no roundups and even if they were it would be a drop in a bucket.
"Go back where you came from"
I've heard variations on that in my lifetime directed at various persons.
I remember a guy coming here to a meeting in York County, Pennsylvania back around 1970 to discuss the return to Africa of people that came from Africa originally.
Slaves did return to Africa and started Liberia in the 1840's its worth noting.
But this guy wanted it to happen circa 1970 and he used some pretty colorful language standing there with his uniform, hood and all.
I'm talking about a KKK rally to be honest with you.
President Trump distracting us from the raids that did not happen.
I'm not distracted.
The President emphasizing racism and hatred of Jews in the ranks of the members of Congress he wanted "to go back" in follow up tweets Monday.
My message to the President is to take some action in a positive direction by pardoning a man who helped him during the 2016 campaign at Co-Chair of the New Hampshire Veterans Coalition for Trump.

The United Kingdom Independence Party abandoned by Nigel Farage for his new "mainstream" look with the Brexit Party.

In Israel a controversy following comments of Rabbi Rafi Peretz, who is the new Minister of Education.
Peretz broached the topic of conversion therapy for gay people causing the Prime Minister of Luxembourg to skip a dinner at Israel's embassy in Brussels.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said that Peretz's comments were "unacceptable".

And forget about Iran for a minute, what about sanctions on Turkey. The European Union moving to sanction Turkey over oil-natural gas drilling in the waters around Cyprus.
Two Turkish vessels have been drilling in waters claimed by Cyprus. There are a lot of players in this energy rich region like Greece, Cyprus and Israel.

Seven planes carrying S-400 components already have landed and deposited their loads onto Turkish soil.
The word published in "Foreign Policy" is that President Trump's advisers want to sanction Turkey and this is based on reporting from "Bloomberg".
What kind of sanctions on Turkey?
