150 more US soldiers are on their way to Syria.   They will be joining in the recently launched joint patrols with Turkish forces in the northeastern part of the country.

The Pentagon says its working on the implementation of President Trump's intention to withdraw many of the troops in Syria but the numbers of soldiers there will be:

"dictated by local conditions"

according to Pentagon spokesman Sean Robertson.

The Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland is denying a report published by "The Times" in London saying that the party is willing to compromise on the "Irish Backstop" to help Prime Minister Boris Johnson cut a deal with the European Union.

Johnson is saying he is "cautiously optimistic" about getting a deal with the EU by October 31st.

The sister of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman received a suspended jail sentence from a court in Paris.

Princess Hessa Bint Salman given the ten month suspended sentence and fined more than 11-thousand US dollars for her role in the assault on plumber Ashraf Eid at her Paris apartment in September 2016.

Bint Salman ordered her bodyguard to tie Eid's hands, kick and punch him and force him to kiss her feet.   

The Saudi royal, a daughter of King Mohammed Bin Salaman, said she was being filmed by Eid.

Her bodyguard got an eight month sentence.   He was at the Thursday sentencing but the princess was not.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned home from Russia early Friday and his meeting with Russia's President Vladimir Putin.   Netanyahu characterized the meeting that included Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu:

More legislation to control firearms in New Zealand.   Earlier some types of firearms were banned and ordered to be turned in.

One aspect of the new laws is the creation of a firearms registry in the country.

In announcing the new laws Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said:

"Owning a firearm is a privilege not a right"

This is the second set of control laws introduced since the attacks on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand March 15th.

Here in the USA the Inspector General of the Department of Justice is approaching the conclusion of a probe into the origins of the Russian collusion investigation that led to Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller's probe that included President Trump as a target.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz has sent to a letter to House and Senate committee chairmen that says in part:

"We have now begun the process of finalizing our report by providing a draft of our factual findings to the Department and the FBI for classification determination and marking.  Once we receive the marked document back from the Department and the FBI, we will then proceed with our usual process for preparing final draft public and classified reports...."

THE YOUNG WOMAN MADE REPEATED COMPLAINTS TO THE PARTY WHICH WERE IGNORED.

THE MAN ACCUSED RESIGNED HIS POST THIS WEEK, A JOB THAT PUT HIM IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH THE LABOR PARTY'S MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT.

Actress Felicity Huffman getting a 14 day federal prison sentence Friday for her role in the college admissions bribery case.   Her lawyers wanted no time with prosecutors recommending a month.

The United States has sent a warship near disputed islands in the South China Sea.   The US Navy's Seventh Fleet announced that the destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer went through the area of the Paracel Islands without asking anyone's permission.   The islands are claimed by China, Taiwan and Vietnam.
