In the here and now people protesting in Madrid tonight the organizers say 120-thousand, the Spanish police say only 18-thousand, supporters of Catalonia being independent from Spain.
They protest the trial of 12 Catalan leaders involved in the independence referendum of 2017 that resulted in a YES vote for independence.
Those people being accused of rebellion and sedition, some could face 25 years in prison.
Catalonia the richest part of Spain doesn't like paying taxes to Madrid for redistribution if you will.

In France the Yellow Vests claim some 230,766 protested across the country Saturday while the government's own estimate is 32,200.
The "black blocs" of anarchists peppered the Yellow Vests in Paris spreading violence and mayhem allowing President Macron to say late tonight that:

need to be taken.
