FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 17:  NATIONWIDE PROTESTS, DISPUTED NUMBERS, "UNDECLARED" PROTESTS

A rainy day in many parts of France today for Act 17-Week 17 of the Yellow Vests protests.

The government says there were 3000 Yellow Vests protesting in Paris today.  Extremists dressed in black infiltrated the protest and threw objects at police at around 6 pm.   Water cannon employed by police in response.....VIDEO

Its been said by observers including France's leading opposition politician Marine Le Pen of the National Rally that the Macron government allows the "black blocs" to get involved in the protests.

The law in France says that protests must be declared in advance.

At Caen in Normandy the Yellow Vests say 1500 demonstrators gathered in an "undeclared" demonstration at 230 pm and continued until 630 pm.   The police say only 950 participated.   17 arrests reported.  Video from protest...HERE

A rally of 800 protesters in Quimper with calls for "Macron resignation" and "Let go of nothing" coming from the crowd.  The demonstration also "undeclared".   Women at the head of procession carried coffins.    Tracks at the train station were briefly occupied.   Some injuries and arrests reported.  Video link.....HERE

The government's official estimate today was 28,600 protesters nationwide but the government's numbers are regularly countered by higher ones from the Yellow Vests.
