FRANCE YELLOW VESTS BREAKING:  ACT 18 OF PROTESTS TODAY

Police in Lille, France were recorded on video kicking and beating Yellow Vests protesters last week and two Deputies (Members of Parliament) from the left-wing LFI Party are warning police urging the new police chief in the region to act to lower tensions today.

The Yellow Vests in the center of Paris near the Arc de Triomphe this morning visible and preparing for today's protest-march.

Yellow Vests figure Eric Drouet said a week ago that today will be a day of "renewed mobilization".

He urged Yellow Vests from all over the country and beyond to come to Paris today.

Today also described as the day for an "ultimatum" to President Emmanuel Macron.

A strong gathering of Yellow Vests early in the day on the Champs-Elysees, estimated at 800 by the Yellow Vests themselves.

Police in a heightened state of alert especially near the presidential Elysee Palace.

BFM-TV reports and has shown video of 500 Yellow Vests arriving at the Gare du Nord station in Paris within the last hour.

Protesters forming processions from several railway stations and now moving through the city.

The large gathering in place on the Champs-Elysees right now.

A clearly more confrontational situation developing on the streets in Paris at this moment.  Earlier 20 arrests reported in Paris.

Full fledged confrontations on the streets with smoke bombs from protesters at the Arc de Triomphe.

Police using water cannon, tear gas as well in response to protesters.

Opposition politicians including Marine Le Pen of the National Rally have expressed their belief that the government manipulates the militant "black blocs" and enables them to show up at protests to discredit the Yellow Vests movement as a whole instead of clamping down on them ahead of time.

The reporting from BFM-TV at this hour is of confrontations between demonstrators and police with paving stones being lifted up and used on police.

Demonstrators marching from the various train stations have converged at the Place de l'Etoile, location of the Arc de Triomphe.

BFM-TV is reporting looting on the Champs-Elysees as well.


(735 AM EASTERN, 1235 PM FRANCE)

Clashes reported on the Champs-Elysees between those who may or may not be Yellow Vests at this point.    Its pretty obvious that the militant "black blocs" have infiltrated the situation setting up barricades and seeking a fight with the police.

BFM-TV reports the CRS riot police "on the defensive".   Video streams seem disrupted with Ruptly going down around 7am Eastern, the multivideo link we referenced a few minutes ago active as well as BFM-TV live video.

On previous Saturday's the police were clamping down before demonstrators arrived facing overall much larger groups of people on those occasions yet today a loose array allowing elements in who are determined and militant.

They would stop and search people on their way into the center of Paris.

Marine Le Pen's thesis of government involvement in allowing militants to come into protests seems operative one could argue.

Barricades formed and some cars set on fire in the center of Paris at this point.

Interior Minister Christophe Castaner quick to estimate 7 or 8 thousand protesters with some 1500 he calls "ultraviolents"

If you're seeing video of a cordon of police with a fire in the background you are watching a fire set at a bank.

The violent forces of anarchy hostile to capitalism completely have been allowed into the center of Paris to cloud the grievances of the Yellow Vests, which are those of rural France with people paying higher gasoline prices to drive long distances, drive on roads given over to private owners who charge tolls..

A group marching up the Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt making its way in the direction of the Elysee Palace, the presidential palace of Emmanuel Macron.

If they reach the Avenue de Marigny that will lead them to the Elysee.
