A positive sign for the US economy today with the unemployment rate dropping to 13.3 percent last month, an improvement from April's 14.7 percent. Sharp rises on the stock markets today following the announcement........BLOOMBERG STORY....Appearing at the White House today President Trump characterized the news as a "good day for George Floyd" with Democrat Presidential candidate Joe Biden quick to the President was "despicable" for bringing up Floyd.
The Mayor of Washington DC, Democrat Muriel Bowser, renaming the plaza near the White House "Black Lives Matter Plaza" with the name "Black Lives Matter" spelled out in large yellow letters on the street there. Her move not looked upon positively by the "Black Lives Matter" organization which said her move was:
"a performative distraction from real policy changes"
and:
"a way to appease white liberals while ignoring our demands"
Questions being asked about the federal law enforcement drone that flew over Minneapolis last Friday (May 29th). Not much information coming from the feds about who was behind it. In Portland, Oregon tonight Mayor Ted Wheeler announcing a 30-day ban on police use of "sonic warning tones" against protesters . Wheeler also considering a ban on tear gas for 30 days. Seattle authorities announced a 30 day tear gas ban today.....OREGONLIVE STORY
Australian police and Prime Minister Scott Morrison opposing a "Black Lives Matter" rally in Sydney on Saturday. The police in New South Wales state going to court to get a ban and the Prime Minister also warning about health dangers of spreading Covid-19. The protest over the death of George Floyd in the US. China is now going to allow foreign airlines some access to the country. The decision by China's civil aviation authority follows a US move to ban Chinese airline flights into the US starting June 16th. A new bill introduced in the US Senate to increase sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline that is to bring Russian natural gas to Western Europe. The legislation targets the insurance companies covering two ships involved in plans to complete the pipeline.
The US pushing Western Europe to buy US produced natural gas instead.
