It was the turn of the nurses to protest pay and working conditions and they came out by the thousands in cities across France Tuesday.      Some 18-thousand on the streets in Paris with violence and tear gas employed as the "black blocs" of anarchists appeared among them.

Protesters arrived in large numbers at the police station she was taken to.  Police defending the arrest saying she threw rocks and gave police the "finger salute".    Her defense was that nothjng she threw was getting anywhere near the police.

Police were protesting as well including the Saturday night "blue light" protest at the Arc de Triomphe about the outrage over police violence and the disrespect they see coming from top government officials announcing new rules for police following George Floyd's murder in the US.

President Emmanuel Macron made a speech last Sunday night proclaiming France's comeback from the first round of fighting the coronavirus but 53 percent of those polled by BFM said they were "not convinced" by his speech.     41 percent described themselves as "somewhat convinced" with only six percent "fully convinced".
