Yesterday the Royal Canadian Mounted Police made their first move to remove a truck blockade at the border with the US state of Montana in Coutts, Alberta.
The RCMP broke off negotiations with the protesters just before they moved in.
They backed down as a reinforcing convoy of farm vehicles, pickup trucks and tractor trailers moved around a Mountie blockade nine miles (15 kilometers) to the north and joined the protest.
