BREAKING NEWS COMMENTARY: THE UKRAINE DRAMA KIEV TRIES TO PROVOKE 'RUSSIAN INVASION' BIDEN TRIES TO STOP DEMOCRAT ELECTION LOSSES IN NOVEMBER

Finally after weeks of  saturation propaganda about a "Russian Invasion" Ukrainian forces on this long holiday weekend in the West going on the offensive in Ukraine's East against Russian separatists.

Ukraine's military forces built up for the offensive by Turkey and other NATO countries with more help on the way driven by the fear campaign about a "Russian Invasion".

The mass shootings in Kiev back during the Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia in 2014 led to a coup in Ukraine tossing its Pro-Russian government and triggering Russian military retaliation.

Now this military offensive by Ukraine during the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022 is designed to trigger some sort of Russian military retaliation.

Domestic politics is also in the mix here 2022 being a mid-term election year in the USA.

Some 60 years ago in October right before the mid-term elections of 1962 President John F. Kennedy chose to reveal to the world that the Soviet Union had placed ballistic missiles in Cuba.

Prior to this moment Kennedy was talking with Soviet ruler Nikita Khrushchev as Communism was solidified in Cuba and the Berlin Wall was put up by the East German Communists.

Kennedy was perceived as soft on Communism and the Republicans poised for mid-term election gains.

Kennedy made an issue of  Soviet missiles in Cuba at this politically strategic moment imposing a blockade but he also worked through a back channel using his brother Robert F. Kennedy to talk with Soviet Ambassador to the US Anatoly Dobrynin.

They cut a deal to pull Russian missiles out of Cuba which would be announced before the mid-terms while having a secret understanding that the US would pull its missiles out of Turkey which was announced after the mid-terms.

Are we on a road to a "Russian Invasion" of Ukraine?

Or are we on a road to some talks between the US and Russia with a deal cut?

Heck maybe both.

Either way Joe Biden's toughness and foreign policy prestige is raised to blunt impending mid-term election losses.
