BREAKING NEWS: THE MOUNTIES TRY TO MOVE AGAINST A TRUCKER BLOCKADE ON THE US-CANADA BORDER, REINFORCEMENTS BREAK RCMP BLOCKADE

This afternoon farmers in the area of Coutts, Alberta broke through the Royal Canadian Mounted Police barricade set up to block food and supplies from getting to truckers mounting a blockade at the nearby US border crossing into Montana.

Alberta's Premier Jason Kenney of the United Conservative Party described the incident this way:

"I've received reports in the last hour of people aligned with the protesters assaulting RCMP officers including one instance trying to ram members of the RCMP leading to a collision with a civilian vehicle"

Kenney is urging anyone sympathetic with the trucker's blockade protesting COVID vaccine and testing mandates for truckers to stay away from the area...

In the video posted above one sees numerous farm vehicles along with pickup trucks and larger big rig trucks getting past the Mounties roadblock.

Earlier today the RCMP breaking off talks with the truckers as a lawyer arrived to represent those interests in negotiations.

The lawyer urging the RCMP to resume talks.

Earlier today this live video stream posted by the "Western Standard" in Canada regarding the situation...WESTERN STANDARD VIDEO STREAM TUESDAY 2/1/2022

In that video the RCMP seen advancing on the protesters gathered in a group.

Then the RCMP pulled back.

What was actually transpiring was in attempt by the RCMP to move vehicles when the additional protesters moved in on the scene.

Today's events happening at the US border right across from Sweetgrass. Montana.

Premier Jason Kenney also said the protest as he puts it is 'unlawful'.

Mainstream media are in the area reporting their version of the story trying to find disagreement with the protest in the local community...CTV NEWS

Now the government in Alberta says that the protest is in violation of the "Critical Infrastructure Defense Act".    It was a law passed in response to left-wing protests like those against oil pipelines in the energy rich province.

In an e-mail sent out several hours ago Ezra Levant the owner of Rebel News says the total number of protesters at this blockade is around 500.

And to note what happened today as the RCMP moved in on the truckers blockade, truckers formed a protest group moving away from their vehicles as the RCMP approached them.     They stood together in a group to face the RCMP.

But the Mounties backed off when their roadblock was breached some nine miles north of the trucker's protest blockade by a new convoy of farm vehicles, trucks and pickup trucks seen in the video link at the beginning of this post.    The new convoy now joining the protest.

And one other very important note here and please remember this the truckers protest has a lane open to allow the people of Coutts, Alberta the town to get in and out and for emergency vehicles like ambulances to come in and leave if needed.

Nobody who lives in the town is prevented from running errands or doing things they need to do the only hindrance to them would be the RCMP roadblock at Highway 4 and Route 501 nine miles (15 kilometers) north of Coutts.

One other late update an RCMP Corporal Curtis Peters quoted by the Canadian Press saying this:

"I'm calling for a return to diplomacy"

We shall see if that means anything in the hours ahead.

That is the story for now.
