There was hope that Alberta Premier Jason Kenney would send a message of an end to COVID vaccine passports and other restrictions in the province often considered Canada's most Conservative today.
But he sent shockwaves through the grassroots of Canadian Conservatism in his province by pushing more COVID shots in the future and laying out future scenarios for bringing the vax passports back when he spoke late this afternoon.
The truckers at the blockade in southern Alberta quickly responded with a reimposition of a full blockade on the US Border with Montana saying their goal was:
"NO MORE MANDATES"

Meanwhile the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are pledging to take action against the protest in Coutts and elsewhere in Alberta...
CBC News reporting that the Mounties are sending reinforcements to Alberta to deal with the Coutts border blockade.
Outspoken opponent of COVID restrictions Calgary Pastor Artur Pawlowski arrested this morning at his home. Pawlowski was planning to go down to southern Alberta to again speak this time at the blockade in Milk River north of Coutts...VIDEO OF ARTUR PAWLOWSKI ARREST CALGARY 2/8/2022
A police officer told Pawlowski he was accused of:
"Mischief"
Last weekend in Coutts he made a passionate speech recounting his childhood in Communist Poland and memories of what happened there.
Getting back to Mr. Kenney's announcement he says the vaccine passports will end for now at Midnight tonight but private business can still use them.
Kenney is also lifting some other restrictions like capacity limits for public venues and masks in schools are to end next week.
There are still other COVID restrictions are to be lifted later.
But Mr. Kenney is not backing down on any vaccine mandates for government employees in Alberta.
They must get vaccinated or they will be fired.

A relatively warm night in Ottawa tonight the trucks are present around Parliament gasoline cans lined up in a protest formation of sorts across from Parliament.
Media reporting that police estimate a group of 500 protesters in the city with more than 100 children present and they are making drama about that.
