When I was young Doris Day was someone I saw in the movies but eventually I would discover the music as I began to take interest in Big Band Era music and that song was her big breakthrough song singing with Les Brown's band back in 1945.
What a life? She was hurt a lot and there were multiple marriages with one husband dying and leaving her bankrupt. I watched her doing a television show back around 1970 as she worked to regroup herself financially.
Doris Day took an interest in animals although I don't think her concern for animal welfare ever got her fined like Brigitte Bardot in France for writing about Islamic practices and animals.
She ended up being commented on by Rush Limbaugh one day drawing a response from Doris Day and a rebuke from his mother back then as I recall. His mother got out to visit Doris Day and Doris Day even sent cookies to El Rushbo as I recall.
Doris Day has passed away in California at the age of 97.
She sang "Sentimental Journey" at the end of World War II but back in 1941 the US got into World War II and tonight we consider if history is repeating itself.
Japan felt the sanctions squeeze in 1941 as the US tried to stop its war in China and Japan made its choice.
Iran is feeling the sanctions noose tightening to get it to make concessions.

Iran and Israel protagonists to be sure with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu given two more weeks to work on forming a new government by President Reuven Rivlin.
But Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit also moving following a "pre-indictment hearing" in the next few months to charge Prime Minister Netanyahu in three separate corruption cases.
And Mr. Netanyahu is moving legislation to neutralize the judiciary in Israel which could tie into his potential prosecution by rendering any ruling by Israel's High Court to take way his immunity from prosecution null and void.

Some country music as it sounded in 1975 with Sue Richards covering the Gene McDaniel's early 1960's hit "Tower of Strength" and Australian singer Diana Trask with "Oh Boy". In the 1970's my go to music country music.
Speaking of Australia Saturday is election day with results coming in at sunrise in the eastern USA Saturday.
There was a nationwide curfew overnight in Sri Lanka and the curfew continues Tuesday in the North-Western province of the country as the population retaliates for the terrorism of Easter Sunday.
Few Christians in the country but Tamils who are Hindus and Sinhalese Buddhists being the majority of the population. Emotions running high over the terrorism as they traditionally have in South Asia.
The historical record is of thousands dying in Sri Lanka's civil war that ended a decade ago with Tamil Tiger terrorism an integral part and the various Hindu-Muslim conflicts on the mainland of South Asia a very high death toll historically.

Just hours away from the #FreeTommy rally outside the Old Bailey in London. 8am Eastern US, 1pm in London.
Tommy Robinson arrested live streaming in Leeds last May 25th and summarily tried, sent off to prison ending up in one where he lost dozens of pounds out of fear his food was poisoned by the other prisoners (30 percent Muslim population).
Well the government keeps bringing the charge back on him modifying it from its original disrupting of the child sex abuse gang trial to making one of the defendants "feel uncomfortable" because Tommy shouted a question at the person as he entered the courtroom for sentencing that day.

During the Newsdump in France Saturday word that a man in what they call a "chronic irreversible vegetative state" will be killed next week.
The French government decided to kill Vincent Lambert, 42 formally last month with the doctor sending the family a letter last week.
The parents have tried to stop the killing with a UN organization recommending a hearing on the matter but the French government saying it does not have to abide.

Dehumanization that leads to the Terri Schiavo's and Charlie Gard's, the Alfie Evans's and now the Vincent Lambert's being put to death is something I know of.
I've often told the story of the 15-year old girl telling me when I was 17 how I was looking at her like she "was a piece of meat".
That kind of insane thinking reaches even lower depths of depravity with the killing of other human beings.
Gotta live a better way and do better things, not just preach and talk about what's right by God.
End of the line with US Attorney General William Barr appointing a US Attorney in Connecticut to review the origins of the "Russian collusion" investigation including whether the former FBI general counsel was leaking confidential info to the media. The BBC on that story....LINK
The "New York Times" writes of a contingency plan to ship out 120-thousand members of the US military to confront Iran if American forces are attacked or Iran accelerates nuclear activities....
