The Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board Jerome Powell says more stimulus spending is needed to prevent a slow and painful economic recovery.

Powell claims that while the spending would be in his words "costly but worth it".

At a press conference in Washington today President Trump described Mr. Powell as an "MIP" meaning "Most Improved Player".

A former campaign chairman for President Trump, Paul Manafort, released from prisont to house arrest because of concern about Covid-19.    Manafort sentenced to seven and half years in prison after being convicted of charges related to the "Russian collusion" investigation.

In other news, it's been revealed that Russian military intelligence has spied on the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.       Merkel says she is pained by the news.   Its already been revealed in the past that US intelligence spied on Merkel. 

   This new revelation in a German magazine comes after another recent revelation in German media about Chinese delay in warning the world about the coronavirus.     Russia moving towards completion of its Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline into Germany right now.    The US opposes that pipeline wanting European countries to import US produced natural gas.

The coordinator of intelligence at the White House now is also the US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell.

Politics here in the USA and a breakthrough for the Republicans in California winning a Congressional seat formerly held by a Democrat.   Republican Mike Garcia the winner of the seat formerly held by Democrat Katie Hill who resigned last year amidst a sex scandal.
