NEXTRUSH UNPLUGGED:  SATURDAY NIGHT VERSION

And the therapy continues....I went to the university to study media and met other students some studying music education and yet others music therapy.

My experience with music as the years have gone by point to music as something that can be a positive influence or a negative one.

Music can be a drug numbing reality or it can help one face reality and move forward to do the right thing IMHO.

Much talk about Iran in recent hours and days.   Get tough talk from the $$$$$ powers of the Gulf Arabs plus politicians in the USA like the late Senator John McCain's protege, Senator Lindsey Graham.    Graham with Hugh Hewitt talk show host Friday pushing notions like taking out Iran's navy.

The connection politicians and money.

Yes what happened out there in the Gulf of Oman Thursday.   I was watching "Tora Tora Tora" on the TCM channel Thursday night.    How appropriate.

Iran is feeling the sanctions squeeze like Japan in 1940-41 and yes Iran has said if we can't export our oil no one else will be able to.   The sanctions tighter as the months pass cutting off Iran from oil buying customers.

One must honestly consider that Iran was and or is sending a subtle message.

They must know history enough to understand the American people will not be happy with a Pearl Harbor II approach to these sanctions.

Limited military actions that damage ships and do not cause high casualty figures but increase the pressure on other nations that get oil from the Gulf Arabs that they will lose oil supplies if the US sanctions continue to tighten.

And in turn getting those nations to pressure the USA to back off sanctions on Iran.

Sanctions that go beyond oil and into other areas.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani laying out his country's position while in Central Asia for international meetings with the leaders of India, China, Pakistan and Russia's Vladimir Putin and other smaller nations.

Saudi Arabia is talking demanding action $$$$$$$$$ and in the UK plans "being drawn up" for 100 Royal Marines to be used to protect vessels in the Persian Gulf region.

Meanwhile on the streets of the UK a street preacher gets arrested again for quoting the "Good Book"....LINK

Well getting back to the Persian Gulf region much said about Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia but another royal is a power behind MbS.

That man is the United Arab Emirates Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

MbZ has gotten a lot of good media coverage but with another point of view consider the arguments in this video.....

And all these jihadists fighting in Syria right now in the northwest, in Idlib and adjacent provinces like Latakia and Hama very much connected to the Persian Gulf heartland of Al Qaeda and medieval brutality.

In Syria's civil war the jihadist side comes up with allegations of chemical weapons attacks but there is dispute over that even within organizations like the OPCW (Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons).

Peter Hitchens bringing up this very vital issue that's liable to hit us at any time because the next chemical attack allegation may be just hours away in the intense fight going on as I post this tonight.

Its the second part of the Hitchens Sunday column posted tonight on his blog....

When it comes to the Constitution of the United States and freedom I think we need to be putting that ahead of politics.

I saw President Trump cheering on Senator Steve Daines from Montana over a flag burning amendment and I thought that flag is supposed to stand for freedom and its 50 stars represent 50 sovereign states like Montana that should have the rights to run the lands free from federal control.

No change on freedom for the lands with Cliven Bundy out there taking his stand and standing alone while the submission to federal control, the signing of "pemits" with the feds for grazing goes on and on.

The Hammonds in Oregon got their pardon from President Trump.   Good move Mr. President then they go back to Oregon and take up the grazing permits on the land from the feds and now the environmentalists have the permit issue all tied up in federal court.

Better Cliven Bundy argued at a meeting in Utah last weekend that they should have used the lands for grazing without signing off on federal ownership of the land through the grazing permits.

Here's the spin from the "Salt Lake Tribune".....CLIVEN BUNDY ON HAMMONDS PARDON GRAZING PERMIT ISSUE

I guess we'll come back to the here and now with the civil war in Yemen continuing as the Houthi rebels hit back at Saudi Arabia who leads a military coalition  against them.    Two airports in Saudi Arabia targeted by separate drones late Saturday night.     "Southfront" has its version of what happened.....LINK

And the protesters in Hong Kong set to take to the streets Sunday to demand an end to the extradition bill that would send Hong Kong residents to the mainland Chinese court system.   Yesterday a "suspension"  of the bill announced but it could be argued that the move is a ploy to quiet down the protests against it so the bill can be shoved down the throats of the people of Hong Kong at some point in the future.

The BBC's latest story on this.....BBC HONG KONG EXTRADITION BILL PROTEST

And whatever is next on the agenda, I hope its sober and sane and I wish all of you peace and serenity in your lives.

A song I heard when I discovered country music on the radio at the start of the 1970's.   Good Night and God Bless.
