A massive crowd on the streets of Hong Kong Sunday as the protest continues against the extradition law.    Organizers say some two million people took to the streets.


They want the government to back away from the law completely and are demanding that the chief executive of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, resign. 

Lam came out on Sunday with an apology but has not decided to back away from the law on extradition to the Chinese mainland.

Many in the huge crowd dressed in black and holding flowers in remembrance of a protester who fell to his death Saturday night holding a banner standing on construction site scaffolding.


30 killed,40 wounded in a suicide bombing attack in northeastern Nigeria.   Authorities believe the Islamist Boko Haram group is responsible.


Bombs detonated outside a hall where fans were watching a soccer match.


At least 12 killed, more than a dozen wounded in a jihadist rocket attack on a government held area of northwestern Syria Sunday evening.


Turkey says it attacked the Syrian army in northwestern Syria in response to an attack by Syrian government forces on a Turkish observation post.

The "Southfront" website has sources confirming the attack while the pro-Syrian government "Within Syria" Twitter is casting doubt on the notion of an attack.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the Russian S-400 air defense system is arriving in Turkey during the first half of next month.

The US is warning Turkey not to obtain the S-400 or else risk being kept out of the F-35 project.

A TV debate in the UK Sunday night with five of the six men who want to be the next British Prime Minister and lead the Conservative Party on the stage.

Channel 4 was responsible for the event with cabinet minister Rory Stewart, steadfast opponent of the strongest measures to obtain Brexit, reported to be getting the "'warmest responses" from those in the audience as characterized by the BBC.

The man who got the most votes in the first round of selection by Conservative Party MP's last Thursday, Boris Johnson, opting not to participate.

Three more rounds of voting Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from the MP's to reach the two finalists who go to more than 120-thousand Conservative Party members for their selection.

All of Argentina and Uruguay lost electricity Sunday morning along with parts of Paraguay and Brazil.

The massive power outage began just after 6am Eastern time in the US.

Restoration of power was underway in the southeastern part of South America throughout the day and was mostly restored by Sunday evening.

The power outage coming on the day of local elections in Argentina and the voting went on without electricity.   Voters using their cell phones to provide lighting.

The wife of Israel's Prime Minister has reached a settlement in her case involving misuse of public funds.

Sara Netanyahu will pay a fine of over 12-thousand dollars in connection with the use of restaurant food at the Prime Minister's residence when a cook was available to prepare meals.

Under the plea deal Sara Netanyahu admitted to "exploiting the mistake of another" as reported by the"Ynet" news website.    She is admitting to spending 50-thousand dollars on meals a reduction from the original charge that she spent 97-thousand dollars on restaurant food.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said the case was part of a "witch hunt".

"Trump Heights" is the name of a settlement dedicated Sunday in the Golan Heights territory Israel won from Syria during the Six-Day War of 1967.

India imposing tariffs on American goods Sunday.    28 different items on India's tariff list including apples, walnuts and almonds.

India said to the leading importer of US almonds.

The tariffs are in retaliation for the ending of trade privileges for India by the United States on June 5th.
