More protests in Hong Kong Wednesday as the bill to allow extradition from Hong Kong to the Chinese mainland was scheduled for debate later in the day.

Thousands of protesters staging blockades using face coverings as protection against pepper spray being used by police to disperse them.

Buildings including the Legislative Council being blockaded by thousands with police threatening to use force to remove them.

IN THE END POLICE RESORTED TO TEAR GAS AND RUBBER BULLETS AGAINST THE PROTESTERS WITH AT LEAST 22 REPORTED INJURED


The blockade forced a delay in the second reading of the extradition bill.

The legislation is expected to pass the pro-Beijing Legislative Council next Thursday June 20th.


US Attorney General William Barr announcing Tuesday the arrest of nearly 1700 suspects in cases involving child pornography and the sexual abuse of 357 child victims.

The arrests in the last two months in an operation being called "Broken Heart".

300 plus suspects arrested for production of child pornography, the others accused of viewing or storing child pornography.

Facing prison again in the UK July 4th for live streaming outside a child sex abuse trial in Leeds, England is activist Tommy Robinson.

Robinson arrested and summarily tried May 25th, 2018.   He was freed from prison just over two months later after losing 40 pounds in harsh and threatening conditions when he won an appeal.

In the war in Yemen, a fight between the Houthis backed by Iran and the government backed by Saudi Arabia and allies, an attack on airport in Saudi Arabia Wednesday.


The Abha International Airport stuck with 26 injuries to civilians reported by the Saudis with eight of those injuries serious.


The Houthis say they used a "cruise missile" in the attack.






Syria reporting an Israeli attack overnight.   Missiles launched into southern Syria from positions west of Mount Hermon.   Aircraft used to launch the attack.


Syria says that farmland was set on fire by the Israeli missiles.


Syria also saying that radars were subjected to electronic attacks.





Russia's mission in Syria reporting eight jihadist-nationalist shelling attacks on Syrian government settlements in Latakia province in a 24 hour period.


The US imposing sanctions on Syrian industrialist Samer Foz, a supporter of the the regime of President Bashar Assad.


The political maneuvering is on in Israel which now has an interim government ahead of the September 17th General Elections, the second set of elections this year. 

Leaders of the "United Right" Party meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seeking key cabinet posts but not getting what they wanted.

The former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked speaking Tuesday said she would like to lead a party of right-wing groups in the election.  Shaked removed from her post by Netanyahu in favor of a Likud member of parliament who supports immunity for Mr. Netanyahu from prosecution.   Netanyahu facing pending indictment his fall in three separate corruption cases.

"The decree dissolving parliament and declaring early parliamentary elections on September 6th, singed by Pavel Filip, does not comply with the Constitution and therefore I signed the decree on abolishing it"


That's the word from the President of Moldova Igor Dodon Tuesday in the latest developments in the political crisis there after pro-Russia and pro-European Union political parties formed a coalition government last Saturday.

Another political party, the Democratic Party, controlled by a wealthy oligarch then entered the picture with Moldova's Constitutional Court putting Pavel Filip into the role of Prime Minister and acting President.

Filip then acted to dismiss parliament and call new elections.

But President Dodon now acting to restore authority.

Russia, the European Union and the United States have all publicly expressed support for the new coalition government formed last Saturday in Moldova, a former Soviet republic, which is located between Romania and Ukraine in Eastern Europe.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin meeting the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the Central Asian nation of Kyrgyzstan Friday.


An aide to Russia's president telling the media that the meeting:

"is very important in the current situation"


The situation surrounding the JCPOA nuclear agreement and new sanctions imposed on Iran as well as developments in Syria will discussed according to the Kremlin aide.

Russia's president making an official visit to Italy next month.  Vladimir Putin meeting both Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and President Sergio Mattarella during his visit.

In Moscow the drug case against journalist Ivan Golunov dropped.   Golunov was under house arrest after being held in jail where he said he was beaten.

Word from Moscow is that the Interior Minister is recommending the dismissal of two police generals in connection with the matter.

Golunov's arrest had triggered front page headlines of outrage in Russian media.

Julian Assange's father visiting the Wikileaks founder in the medical section of a British prison Tuesday.    Joining him the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei who's been arrested and censorsed by the Chinese government.
