This week Emmanuel Macron encountered various kinds of protests as he attempted to tour France and tout his concern for teachers (higher pay) and health care among other issues.

But everywhere he went there was dissent ranging from the clanging of pots and pans to up close conversations challenging him regarding the issue that is unresolved.

The issue of his imposition of pension reforms without a National Assembly vote including the raising of the retirement age from 62 to 64.

Other cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne greeted with the:

                              "Concert de Casseroles"

translated into English:

                              "Concert of Pots and Pans"

At one point this week President Macron spoke out saying that the pots and pans protests were something that was beneath "democracy" as he sees it.

Macron claiming on Tuesday that protests must be done:

"in a purely democratic and respectful framework"...

On Thursday local officials banned any protest that made loud noises for the visit of Emmanuel Macron who was trying to talk about health care but still found himself confronted by people openly disagreeing with him in their comments and questions...

On Friday authorities banned a protest near the Stade de France planned for this evening by the CGT labor union a leading force in opposition to the Macron pension reform scheme.

President Macron set to attend the final match of the Coupe de France soccer (football) tournament.

This Monday is May Day a traditional labor union day of protest but this Monday nationwide strikes and protest across France another day of dissent from Macron's imposition of pension reform.

The leader of the Left political faction in France's National Assembly Jean-Luc Melenchon posting a You Tube video urging police to participate in Monday's protest noting that their pensions are also impacted by Macron's new law.

For now Emmanuel Macron's attempt to pivot from the Left to the Right to the Left and so on the Moderate image he wants to project is dead in the water for most people in France.

The cutting of pensions by the former banker turned politician trying to carry out his own 'great reset' policies that ultimately favor the banking and business world he came from a bridge too far for public opinion.

We shall see what Monday brings in France many airline flights and trains cancelled other sectors on strike mass rallies across the country.

Emmanuel Macron seems to maintain a strategy that through his snide attitude towards protests and restrictive measures imposed by various local authorities may trigger some sort of response that can become a sort of "January 6th" in France.

This could shift public opinion away from supporting protests and maintaining public opposition to his pension reform law.

That's the story of France and the Yellow Vests for this week.
