BLAST FROM THE PAST-HURRICANE AGNES JUNE 1972-50 YEARS AGO THIS WEEKEND
What was going on 50 years ago in my life a summer trip with aunts, uncles and grandparents, cousins etc. became an adventure when Hurricane Agnes brought flooding to Pennsylvania the Central and Northern regions where I lived and where my relatives lived.
I went down to the river went up the steps looked over the flood wall and there was the water six inches from the top or maybe it was two or three inches.
Grandma had me take a lot of things to the upper floor of her house in anticipation of major flooding but the flood wall worked where I was kept the water out of the town.
In 1992 WBRE in Wilkes-Barre took a look back at the hurricane and it's impact much of that city flooded...VIDEO LINK
I wasn't even home to experience the flooding situation down here in southcentral PA and WGAL remembering on the 50th anniversary with this special.
You'll see a lot here including the visit of then President Richard Nixon to see the devastation with a visit to a mass evacuation center established in Harrisburg...
Flooding from the storm all over the middle of Pennsylvania and down into places like Richmond, Virginia as well.

Governor Glenn Youngkin wanting credit for emulating another GOP governor Tate Reeves in Mississippi wants to have a 15-week abortion law like the one argued before the US Supreme Court ahead of yesterday's decIsion.
Wow that's conservative, yeah?
France and Spain have 14-week abortion laws so they are selling you all swampland in Florida and ocean front property in Arizona.
Republican governors like Tate Reeves in Mississippi and Glenn Youngkin in Virginia want to roll out abortion laws more liberal than the ones in France and Spain.
I mentioned earlier this "Sanctity of Human Life" issue is so much more than Abortion.
It's about my attitude concerning sex.
Do I promote lust for sex with the way I look at people, talk to other people, display my body in front of other people that can stop situations from happening that lead to abortions dare I say it.
