It's Primary Election Day in a number of US states today including Illinois, Colorado and Utah.



In New York primary elections for governor today.



The leading candidates in the Republican contest Neoconservative Congressman Lee Zeldin and Andrew Giuliani son of the former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and a White House aide during the Trump Administration.




Early results in New York show a close contest between Giuliani and Zeldin.   Both with 34 percent of the vote Giuliani with a 50 vote lead.




But later returns showing Zeldin in the lead with Zeldin declared the winner.



In Colorado Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert forced by Democrats into a newly shaped district has won her primary she was leading 64 to 36 percent over challenger Don Coram that with 72 percent of the vote counted.




And from Illinois State Senator Darren Bailey the big winner in the GOP primary for governor endorsed by President Trump.    Bailey declared the winner by the mainstream media he has 54 percent of the popular vote among a six candidate field with half the vote counted.



Bailey will face incumbent Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker in November.
