In Australia the two largest states are moving away from vaccine targets as measuring sticks for lockdown.
Some easing announced today first Victoria state and later New South Wales planning some easing of the lockdown in some rural areas of their states but heavily populated areas will still remain under strict lockdown conditions in both states.
In Victoria only the Shepparton area in northern Victoria will be in total lockdown in the rural regions outside of Greater Melbourne where the strict lockdown continues.
However there will be plenty of restrictions in place in those rural areas of Victoria including outdoor gatherings. Religious services and funerals limited to 20 people, weddings to 10 people among other things.

Meanwhile extensive parts of New South Wales including locations where dozens of protests took place in opposition to lockdown on August 31st going out of lockdown at Midnight Friday.
