FRENCH HEALTH WORKERS SUSPENDED FOR NOT GETTING VACCINATED
On Wednesday French Health Minister Olivier Veran said that three thousand health care workers were suspended without pay for being unvaccinated.
His move came on the day designated by the government for workers either to be vaxxed or face the disciplinary action.
Veran claimed that many of those suspended had agreed to be vaccinated and would soon return to work.
Official figures published Tuesday from "Public Health France" said 89.3 percent of nurses and 89.8 percent of paramedics had been vaccinated in the country. Some 95 percent of workers in nursing home facilities also reported to have been vaccinated.
NEW FRENCH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TOUTED WHO HURTS MARINE LE PEN
Politics this week in France with Eric Zemmour the longtime TV pundit outspoken in his criticism of Islamic influences on France leaving his media job. The media hyping his planned presidential run with instant polling.
The polling puts Zemmour at eight percent of the vote and knocks Marine Le Pen down to around 18 percent. That puts Le Pen just ahead of the leading candidate of France's Establishment "Right" Xavier Bertrand.
Bertrand is shown to poll well perhaps even beating incumbent President Emmanuel Macron in the second round.
It appears Zemmour may be the candidate designed to knock Marine Le Pen down so Bertrand can enter the final round against Macron next April.
FRANCE HUMILITATED ON WORLD STAGE WITH NEW AUKUS SECURITY PACT
A deep shock to France's international prestige and its national feelings came this week with the announcement of a security pact against China by the United States with the United Kingdom and Australia.
The new pact means Australia is pulling out of a deal to use French technology to build its new submarine fleet and will instead use American know-how to build nuclear subs.
France sees this as a "stab in the back" from Australia and decided to send a message to both the United States and Australia Friday night.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian announced Friday night that at the request of President Macron he was recalling France's ambassadors to Australia and the United States.
