For the sake of the country, President Trump urged Democrats to back away from their "impeachment inquiry" speaking again of the Democrats efforts being a "witch hunt".

The former Vice-President and Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden claiming that the President has committed an impeachable offense.

Israel's political deadlock and a late Wednesday proposal from Yisrael Beiteinu (Israel Our Home) Party leader Avigdor Lieberman for a unity government including Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud and Benny Gantz's Blue and White parties.

Lieberman called on Likud and Blue and White to join his party to work out the guiding principles of a future government that would be secular and exclude Israel's religious parties.

The Likud has already rejected his proposal.

Turkish military operations are underway in northeastern Syria with air strikes and artillery attacks.

Civilians have begun to flee the areas under attack.

The UK and France plan to request an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council and Jean-Claude Juncker, European Union Commission President, calling for a "halt" to Turkish military operations.

Parliament will sit on Saturday October 19th immediately after a summit of European Union leaders to decide the next steps regarding Brexit.

If there is a "deal" there will be a vote on the deal.    If there is no deal then the various options will be voted on in a Parliament dominated by the opponents of Brexit.

There's word that the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, is actively working with the European Union to prevent a No Deal Brexit from occurring.

The situation in Iraq reported to be calmer in recent hours following a week of protests in which 110 have been killed and thousands injured.

The massive power cut in northern California could last several days and will impact many San Francisco Bay area residents outside the city of San Francisco.

Pacific Gas and Electric shutting power off to some 800-thousand customers because of conditions that could create wildfires.    PG and E's equipment determined to have caused the deadly "Camp Fire" that killed 86 in Paradise, California last year.

By late in the day several hundred thousand customers had power shut off with power to some restored through rerouting but most of the customers remaining shut off until weather conditions change.
