Georgia Governor Brian Kemp declaring a state of emergency and mobilizing up to 1,000 National Guard troops along with state law enforcement in response to violence in Atlanta over the holiday weekend.     Kemp saying that protection of state buildings will be their mission....ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION

Earlier Governor Kemp sent condolences to the family of the eight-year killed in a shooting near the Wendy's were Rayshard Brooks was killed by a former police officer last month.   Then responding to another deadly shooting via social media, Kemp said in part:

"This recent trend of lawlessness is outrageous & unacceptable"

and

"While we stand ready to assist local leaders in restoring peace & maintaining order, we won't hesitate to take action without them"

25 shootings in the city over the July 4th weekend.

A Danish regulatory agency opening the door for Russian ships anchored in its waters to complete the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline.    European vessels forced out by US sanctions signed by President Trump last December.   The Russian ships will have to wait to see if an appeal is filed against the Danish decision. 

  

Five US senators (Four Republican, One Democrat) have introduced new sanctions legislation aimed at insurance coverage for the Russian vessels to be involved in the pipe laying.      Nord Stream 2 will bring natural gas direct from Russia to Western Europe with the US wanting European nations to import US natural gas instead......TASS STORY
