Getting drunk to me is more than booze but needless to say that Tom T. Hall song reminds me of adults in my life who "taught me to drink booze" one such man was a buddy of my father.
This guy could talk big but one thing my father picked up on from him was the job the man had before he went out drinking every day.
It was the kind of government job my father wisely took in 1967 as the inflationary tide rolled in from President Lyndon Johnson's expansion of the Welfare State and escalation of the Vietnam War.
Dad left the factory for higher paying government employment with great benefits including the pension he has today.
Times were different back then this tweet says a lot about those pre-inflationary times.

My parents able to do a lot indeed my mom worked as well as my dad the hedge against inflation was high in our household in those early days of the big spending federal government driving up the prices across the board.
But my dad did more than spend money he saved money always wondering why the people around him spent wildly even as they drank adult beverages with abandon.
"How can they spend all that money?"
was the question I recall him asking frequently.
I have had the rough times when it comes to money even bankruptcy but I look out today and see the credit score in the top tier for both myself and my wife I have worked two jobs and she has worked hers.
Financial Sanity and Sobriety seem to be here in my world.
There were 12 Steps that I got involved in between bankruptcy and today needless to say and yes there is a Seventh Tradition in that program too.

Reflecting back now after detoxifying my life that woman did "paint my life" with a good notion she told me back then about finding 'a mature relationship' and its good to relate sober and sane in an adult way, a mature way with other people.

THEY GOT MORE DRAMA FEDERALLY AND LOCALLY TO PILE ON MR. TRUMP LIKE J6 AND SO ON.
THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT HAS A 98 PERCENT CONVICTION RATE, YOU HAVE TO BE AMMON BUNDY FOLKS HE BEAT FEDERAL CHARGES TWICE A RARITY.
NO WONDER THEY USE CIVIL LAWFARE AGAINST MR. BUNDY IN IDAHO THOSE RINO REPUBLICANS THAT RUN THAT STATE AS I POST THIS.

God Bless Ammon Bundy who went to Oregon in 2016 in the name of "Love Thy Neighbor" and was found not guilty by a federal jury in October of 2016 for doing just that.
Bundy facing piled on federal charges with a big 100 years in prison attached to it, at least it was big back then.
Ammon Bundy chose not to be "wicked" and "weak" in 2016 he was vindicated in the Oregon Standoff.
Bundy and his family also vindicated in the 2014 Bunkerville Standoff at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada all federal charges dismissed with prejudice when the FBI and federal prosecutors tried to rig that case.
This lawfare from Liberal Boise by a medical conglomerate a leader in the Chamber of Commerce close to RINO Govenor Brad Little a travesty.
They sue Ammon Bundy and Diego Rodiguez for 7.5 million dollars because they stood up for Diego's 10-month-old grandson Baby Cyrus Anderson.
A judge in Liberal Boise issues arrest warrants for Bundy and Rodriguez and the Sheriff in "Conservative" Gem County, Idaho actually tries to enforce that.
People I guess going their own way it's Sodom USA as best I can figure it the evil weakens moral judgement and moral clarity in the lives of elected officials, law enforcement etc. etc.
But in a deeper sense I see people saying things like:

I am a Constitutionalist
I am a Christian
And not being any of those things drunk as skunks from drugs legal and illegal the obvious and not so obvious intoxicants in play...

BLAST FROM THE PAST SOME 1950'S TELEVISION...
In the 1950's I would say in the 1953 to 1955 period two shows at the top of the list "I Love Lucy" with comedy on CBS and "Dragnet" with drama on NBC.
ABC was still trying to get its act together from 1955 on they would focus on prime time and create highly rated westerns to get into the competition.
Here is one of those "Dragnet" shows starring Jack Webb and Ben Alexander was his partner for Dragnet's 1950's run. The show would have its 1960's reincarnation that I viewed as a child.
This episode called "The Big Crime" and the kind of the crime committed in this 1950's show is still considered a "Big Crime" you'll hear about dirty language in front of children and it will associated with dirty actions...
