YELLOW VESTS GATHER TO PROTEST IN PARIS JUNE 10, 2023
On Tuesday the pension reform repeal legislation brought by National Assembly members from France's overseas territories gutted in committee.
The provision to restore the retirement age to 62 taken out.
The deciding votes came from the members of the committee who held the balance of power deputies from the old-guard "Right" Les Republicains party.
That doomed the legislation because Yael Braun Pivet, the President of the National Assembly from President Emmanuel Macron's faction, ruled an amendment to restore the retirement age to 64 was inadmissible.
Mass protests across France on Tuesday against the pension reform unions again in the forefront the CGT trade union federation estimating some 900,000 people on the streets with the government claiming only 281,000 participated...
