"There Is No Choice Left: Russia Will Have To Launch A Nuclear Strike On Europe"
The headline for commentary from Russian political scientist Serey Karaganov as published Sunday by the RIA Novosti Agency in Russia.
Karaganov, who is considered close to President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, argues that the deterrent effect of nuclear weapons (Mutual Assured Destruction) involving the US and USSR as experiences in the Cold War Era is no longer valid.
He cites the war being waged in the underbelly of Russia, a nuclear power, namely the Ukraine War.
Mr. Karaganov weighs the impact of such a war including the Biden Administration's promised use of massive conventional retaliation in the event of Russian nuclear weapons use.
He even considers the role of China in the world today in relation to Russia and the United States.
Karaganov lays out a plan that includes the breaking off of diplomatic relations with those nations that will be attacked with nuclear weapons.
Another aspect of his discussion about a nuclear weapons option in relation to the Ukraine War is the situation regarding Western values.
"as the vector of development of the West, its elites and society, their movement towards anti-human and post-human values shows, all this clearly indicates an objective approach to a big thermonuclear war.
We must interrupt this process and thus save the world-if possible, of course, avoiding super tough actions"...
