WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON?: THE FOX LEGACY FOR CONSERVATIVES, PATRIOTS, CHRISTIANS ETC. LIBERAL FEMALE FASHION AND UNRESTAINED LIBERAL CAPITALISM

I was in a medical waiting room giving someone a ride home after their treatment the other day reading the biography of Walter Cronkite by Douglas Brinkley.

I looked up as Hoda Kotb and other female cast members of "Today" discussed the new breast cancer screening recommendations.    No mention of all the sexual activity causing it or perhaps the need for more medical industry profits?

But regardless it was ironic to notice the cleavage emanating from Hoda and the other ladies.  I went back to the book.

But I got a reminder of the legacy of Fox News and its offshoot Fox Business the "breast and leg" legacy that so many conservative people including religious conservatives experienced for decades.

Men getting the eyeful and women getting the instruction in fashion.

Rupert Murdoch was also a believer in "Liberal Capitalism" of the kind supported by his favorite political party in Australia the "Liberal Party".

"Liberal Capitalism" of the kind promoted on Fox News and Fox Business very much about creating the best conditions for the largest businesses.

During the Obama Administration the talking heads on Fox attacked Obama's plans for higher corporate taxes in the US by touting the low corporate taxes in Canada.

Canada's 15 percent rate draws businesses into the country for sure and it's a byproduct of a system of government presided over for most of the last 100 years by the Liberal Party of Canada.    "Liberal" on social issues and a welfare state but also "Liberal" in opportunities for capitalists like the low corporate taxes.

Canada's social welfare system is financed with income taxes to be sure but also federal sales taxes of the kind Americans don't have to pay.    Canadians are also burdened with user fees for parks and recreation areas to fund government services.

Ideas both sexual and economic have been infused into a generation or more of Fox viewers including the tens of millions of Conservative, Christian and Patriotic viewers.

I am a capitalist when it's all said and done but I'm not an all-out unrestrained capitalist who leaves little people burdened with too many taxes.

We all need to share the burden of financing whatever government of whatever size we choose to have although many agree the current government is way too big in too many ways.

And as for the sexual message of Fox all of the sexual wrongdoing in churches and other institutions comes from many inputs but the fashions of the women on Fox Business and Fox News weren't helpful in the end.

There was a moment more than a decade ago when the woman in the tight dress on Fox News inspired me to turn off the set and avoid Fox News from then on.

When I look back at Fox News and many more do that now in the wake of the Tucker Carlson Affair I saw myself being manipulated and used to support an agenda of powerful banking and business interests with gaslighting emotional window dressing to carry me along the way.

I deserve something better, we all deserve something better than that kind of manipulation of our minds, not to mention our genitalia.
