FRENCH PRIME MINISTER ATTACKS LEFT AND RIGHT SEEKING TO PROMOTE "CENTRIST" GOVERNANCE

LINKS NATIONAL RALLY TO MARSHAL PETAIN

                            (NEWS, COMMENT, ANALYSIS UPDATED)

\

President Emmanuel Macron's Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne describing the ideas of the National Rally of Marine Le Pen as "fundamentally dangerous" and condemning the Left in France for their "behavior" as they oppose the rise in the country's retirement age to 64.

In an interview with "Radio J", a Jewish radio station in Paris, Bourne says that Left leader Jean-Luc Melenchon plays "the game of the far-right" and promotes violence.

Bourne went so far as to say that the National Rally is the "heir to Petain" as in Marshal Philippe Petain who surrendered France to Germany in 1940 and led the Vichy French regime.

Le Pen said today that Bourne's remarks are "infamous and unworthy" and also "not acceptable" to the National Rally's elected officials and it's millions of supporters.

The latest political polling indicates that Marine Le Pen would win a Presidential Election in 2027 and that the National Rally would lead any new legislative elections in France.

Also word this weekend that the Macron government is seeking accommodation with the "Mainstream Right" Republicans in the National Assembly to pass compromise legislation regarding immigration.
