FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 237: THE FULL MACRON AGENDA PROTESTED, LEGISLATION TO OVERTURN RETIREMENT AGE INCREASE ON THE TABLE, THEATER OF THE EXTREME

             YELLOW VESTS PROTEST IN PARIS SATURDAY 5/27/2023

On June 6th a major effort at protests nationwide against President Emmanuel Macron's imposition of pension reform is planned.

For now there are smaller protests like this one in Paris last Tuesday,,,

           A banner at the protest read in full when translated into English:

                              Money for

    Our salaries, our pensions, our allocations

                 Not for war or repression!

The protest sign a concise summary of conditions in France right now where Macron's neo-liberal capitalist agenda is in full bloom.

One major move lessening long-term government spending through pension cuts has been imposed.   The raising of the retirement age to 64 a milestone.

This will relieve tax burdens for business in the decades to come.

It's accompanied by more spending on military aid for Ukraine to potentially cause regime change in Russia.

There is also a campaign of fear concerning possible violence by various extremists from the 'far right" to those opposing pension reforms or campaigning against climate change.

ON FRIDAY POLICE USED TEAR GAS AS DOZENS OF CLIMATE CHANGE PROTESTERS TRIED TO BLOCK ACCESS TO THE SHAREHOLDERS MEETING OF TOTALENERGIES IN PARIS.

Getting back to the pension reform issue there is a new wrinkle in the National Assembly as the small group of legislators from France's overseas territories seek to overturn the rise in the retirement age in France from 62 to 64.

The government members who support President Macron do not have a majority in the Assembly that's why Mr. Macron used special powers given to France's President to impose pension reform in the first place.

His supporters face the potential of losing the vote when the legislation comes to the floor of the Assembly on Thursday June 8th.

For now they pledge to stop the vote we shall see what happens when the time comes.

        In Rennes A "Theater Of The Extreme"

The drama over "extremism" continued today with a "Theater Of The Extreme" in Rennes as hundreds gathered in spite of a police ban on protest.

600 reported on hand according to BFM-TV.

Mainstream media also noting that around 100 of then came dressed in black and white with masks and carrying umbrellas.

They appeared ready for battle much like protesters were in Hong Kong not too many years ago.

Police resorted to tear gas.

Some attacks on members of the mainstream media reported.
