On Thursday morning local time Wednesday evening US Eastern Time North Korea firing multiple missiles eastwards towards Japan.


Japan's Coast Guard reporting the firing of three ballistic missiles and that all have fallen...(NHK Japan)



After South Korea fired missiles off the eastern coast of North Korea, the North responded with a second volley of missiles late in the afternoon local time.


Six missiles launched off the eastern and western coasts of North Korea.


In addition 100 artillery shells were fired into a maritime buffer zone off South Korea's eastern coast earlier in the day...

North Korea firing multiple missiles (at least 10 now said to be 23) eastwards into the sea today following threatening warnings aimed at US-South Korean military maneuvers.


One missile landing 57 kilometers (35.42 miles) east of the city of Sokcho on South Korea's east coast.



Other missiles landed in the sea south of the maritime border between North and South Korea with another heading for South Korea's Ulleung Island where an air raid alert was issued.



South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff saying today's act cannot be tolerated and that the South "will sternly respond to it in close cooperation with the U.S.".
