FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 202: LE PEN SAYS GOVERNMENT HAS 'LOST CONTROL' ON ENERGY PRICES, PROTEST TODAY, HEALTH FREEDOM PROTEST IN PARIS LAST WEEKEND

The charges caused Adrien Qautennens of the LFI Party to step down from his leadership role and Julien Bayou to be suspended from his leadership role in the Greens...BBC NEWS...

The media slamming of the "Left" continued later in the week with attention drawn to "Left" leader Jean-Luc Melenchon touching the cheek of a reporter the notion of violence presented.

Meanwhile the French have been polled on pension reform by Elabe for BFM-TV.   This follows President Emmanuel Macron's intention to broach the issue in the coming month for a legislative vote.

The current legal retirement age is 62.    According to the poll 46 percent want it to stay that way.

33 percent want the retirement age lowered.

Only 21 percent want it raised in line with President Macron's views.

On Thursday the National Rally leader in the National Assembly, Marine Le Pen, met Macron's Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.

Le Pen saying outside the meeting that the government has "lost control" when it comes to energy prices in France and she also expressed her opposition to any move by Macron to force pension reform legislation through by extraordinary means given the French President in the country's Constitution.

And getting back to the "pension reform" issue Emmanuel Macron will work in the coming week to build unity and consensus on matters of raising the retirement age and any other changes he wants to make on pensions.

Macron to meet with Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, cabinet ministers and members of the National Assembly amid disquiet over both the notion of pension reform and the notion that Macron might override the legislature to get his way as is allowed a French president in Section 49.3 of the Constitution.

Macron needing "mainstream" political party support and counting on both Les Republicans and maybe even Socialists in the National Assembly to help his minority of members there to get to a majority on some type of pension reform.

That's the story of France and the Yellow Vests for this week.
