Pension reform is back on the table again in France.
President Emmanuel Macron has broached the notion of raising the age from 64 to 65 for retirement in France during the Presidential election campaign earlier this year.
His political party intends to use its votes in the National Assembly along with the "mainstream" Les Republicians to move the legislation and Les Republicains have major strength in France's Senate to get the controversial legislation through.
Both the "Left" the LFI and the National Rally will oppose the pension changes in the National Assembly where they have a minority of the seats combined.
On Wednesday Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne pledging government intervention in early 2023 to limit gas and electricity price increases to 15 percent.
Borne telling the public the price hikes would be more than 100 percent without government intervention.
She also said that the 12 million poorest French households would get "energy vouchers" of between 100 and 200 euros (100 to 200 dollars) this winter.
