In France this week talk about a:
"quota-trading system"
for energy and the possibility of energy rationing as the natural gas situation for France moved into a new phase.
Russia's Gazprom announced an end to natural gas supplies for France due to non-payment. The suspension effective Thursday. Russia wanting payments in Russian roubles following financial sanctions imposed on it over Ukraine.
It all adds up to a cutoff of Russian natural gas.
The Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne conducting an emergency meeting on Friday to talk energy supplies.
Earlier on Wednesday Borne met with President Emmanuel Macron and the cabinet.
The meeting said to be one trying to balance three issues.
Climate Change
Energy Conservation
Inflation
On Friday it was announced that nuclear reactors currently offline in France (32 out of 56) will be brought back into service this winter.
The weekly protest continues in Paris this Saturday...

Orange signs with "Liberte" and "Resistance" among other things..
And a protest by bikers in Paris today opposing parking fees for motorcycles...
The protests picking up this weekend in the French capital with a call for a major protest in Paris next Saturday (September 10th) in opposition to President Macron and his policies.
For now that's the story of France and the Yellow Vests.
