NEWS SUMMARY-INTELLIGENCE REPORT TUESDAY 11/5/2019



The off year election results tonight with two governor's races the center of attention.


Democrat Andy Beshear claiming victory in Kentucky's race for governor over incumbent Republican Matt Bevin but no concession from Mr. Bevin with the vote count very close.


Only 5,000 votes separating the two candidates with 99 percent of the vote reported in.


Lt. Governor Tate Reeves the winner in the race for Governor in Mississippi.    The Republican defeating Democrat Attorney General Jim Hood.


Democrats in Virginia gained control of both houses of the state legislature in today's vote there.



At least nine US citizens, at least four of them children, killed in an ambush in northern Mexico.    Its believed that a convoy of vehicles were mistakenly targeted by drug cartel gunmen.  Others are missing and believed kidnapped according to a relative who posted on Facebook last night.


They were all part of a Mormon religious community that is described as an offshoot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.


President Trump tweeted this morning in part:


"If Mexico needs or requests help in cleaning out these monsters, the United States stands ready, willing and able to get involved..."



Revised testimony from US Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland in the "impeachment inquiry".   Mr. Sondland saying it was "likely" that US military aid to Ukraine was linked to Ukraine investigating the lucrative activities of former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter.


The White House tonight saying this revised testimony does not implicate the President in doing anything that was improper or illegal.


Leaked video from an ABC news anchor discussing her efforts to cover Jeffrey Epstein and how higher ups at the network quashed that coverage.    Its the work of the conservative activists at Project Vertias.


In part of the video Amy Robach says that Britain's royal family pressured ABC to not report on the allegations of Virginia Guiffre about Prince Andrew.

In Bolivia civic leader Luis Fernando Camacho called for a civic strike beginning today to block highways and government institutions.


Camacho told a mass rally in the eastern city of Santa Cruz last night that he would travel to the capital city of La Paz today with a letter calling for the resignation of President Evo Morales.


When he tried to reach the Presidential Palace today Mr. Camacho was blocked.   He is vowing to continue to come to the palace until he is allowed to enter.


Morales, the long-time left-wing president, was declared the winner in the first round of the October 20th presidential election but opposition supporters believe the vote count was tainted.


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today US forces in Syria are patrolling with Kurdish fighters that Turkey considers to be terrorists.


Erdogan also telling reporters that he will decide whether to visit Washington later this month after speaking with President Trump on the phone.


The Democrat  controlled US House vote to condemn the genocide of Armenians by Ottoman Turkey 100 years ago has caused anger in Turkey.


Israeli politics and Blue and White Party leader former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz says that Likud leader Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unwilling to compromise on establishing a national unity government and wants to lead Israel into its third election in less than a year.

There was a debate Monday night among five major party leaders in Spain ahead of Sunday's election.    Its Spain's second this year.  The opposing parties warning acting Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez of an impending economic crisis.     The Catalan drive for independence also figured prominently in the debate.


Election results Sunday are again expected to be inconclusive as they were earlier this year with no party near the 176 seats needed for a majority in the lower house of parliament.
