I always associate the Jamaican sound in music with London.
What is going on with the UK's new Prime Minister Boris Johnson?
He's a man praised by President Donald Trump to be sure. The well educated Johnson has come out with verbal force to push forward with words aimed at the focus group tested issues in the UK including crime.
Johnson has a socially liberal view of things and was elected Mayor of London as a Conservative which meant being very liberal for a "Conservative". One could argue that Johnson bears a resemblance to President Trump operating in the big city environment of New York and being more on the Left to get along with the liberal forces dominating the city.
That is President Trump's past that he has been able to stamp out with all that he has said in recent years.
Boris Johnson's new Home Secretary in charge of police is Priti Patel who's saying she wants criminals "to feel terror". She's a Conservative Party politician sacked by the former PM Theresa May from over ethical questions related to a trip Patel took to Israel when she was International Development minister.
But the bottom line is will he deliver a real Brexit or is it all bluff and bluster rhetoric that will lead to a new relationship with the EU called "Brexit" but still tying the UK to EU laws and other transnational arrangements when all the dust of the war of words settle.
That's a very real possibility.
It was Peter Hitchens who observed that Johnson was "cynical" enough to fake his own people out on Brexit.
But the former Home Secretary Sajid Javid is still around, now Chancellor of the Exchequer. Javid the leading Muslim politician among the Tories.
Johnson has talked about close ties to Europe down the road since becoming PM and supporters of real Brexit like Nigel Farage are warning that Johnson is just Theresa May in disguise.

And when the "human rights commission" comes after people in Canada there are consequences.

The 50th anniversary of Woodstock upon us in the week ahead and it was a news story on the radio and television back then when I was a child and "Life" magazine published the pictures including the nudie ones as I recall it.
It was a cultural moment and it spawned music festival events in its wake including those of the religious movement in the country.
I went to some of those religious music festivals in the wake of Woodstock as I grew into adulthood in the early 1980's.

Late Saturday night the Syrian army on the move into Idlib province from neighboring Hama province to the south. Backed by air strikes including some from the Russian Aerospace Forces. The jihadist opposition forces taking a pounding and faltering. "Southfront" reports.....LINK
