The Yellow Vests protests continued today in the midst of a summer lull but fueled by the now confirmed death of Steve Maia Canico in Nantes.

The release of a police report that exonerated law enforcement of any responsibility for his death just 24 hours after Canico's body was pulled from the Loire River this week blew up in the government's face.

Premier Edouard Philippe ordered a new investigation to clear up "confusion" that's led to two judges in Nantes to ask to be excused from involvement in any new probe.

That's the story of the Yellow Vests for now.
