NEWS SUMMARY-INTELLIGENCE REPORT FRIDAY 8/2-SATURDAY 8/3/2019 NEWSDUMP EDITION

President Trump tweeted Friday that Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe  is withdrawing his name from consideration to be the new Director of National Intelligence.

Trump said that Ratcliffe was getting was getting bad treatment from the Mainstream Media and that he will have a new nominee shortly.


Rapper A$AP Rocky and his two co-defendants freed from jail by a Swedish judge and they are able to leave the country.    Judge Per Lennerbrant will deliver a verdict in the case August 14th.


The judge's ruling at the end of the assault trial involving A$AP Rocky who's real name is Rakim Mayers.


Reuters news agency reporting that the judge's ruling indicates a light sentence or even acquittal for the defendants.  The prosecutor in the case was asking for a six month sentence for the rap star.

Trump spoke to Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven about the matter with repeated tweets supporting freedom for A$AP Rocky.


Friday afternoon the President Trump tweeting that A$AP Rocky was on his home to the United States.


The President sent the US special envoy for hostage affairs, Robert O'Brien, to watch the trial.


In London the "Free Tommy Robinson" protest set for Oxford Circus in the center of the city starting at Noon Saturday local time, 7 am in the Eastern US.

Tommy Robinson remains imprisoned at the high security Belmarsh prison in London serving a 66 day sentence for reporting on a child sex abuse gang trial involving Muslim defendants.


Special police measures being imposed in and around the French city of Nantes Saturday as protests are planned to remember Steve Maia Canico.


He was found dead in the Loire River following a violent police operation to break up a music festival at around 430 am June 22nd that forced a number of people into the water.


Some protests have been declared to the authorities (at least two) that are considered legal, but protests are banned Saturday in the center of Nantes.


Police operations are expected to establish checkpoints along highways and streets to check cars and bags of those entering the city Saturday, taking away items considered to be weapons or potential weapons.


In New York City, an administrative law judge ruling that NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo should be fired for using a chokehold banned by the department.

Pantaleo involved in the 2014 incident involving Eric Garner, who died afterwards.  The Garner case seen by many as exemplifying police use of violence and excessive force against black people in the United States.

Garner's death did not result in any criminal charges with the federal government reaching its decision against any charges recently after a five year long investigation.

Pantaleo denied using a chokehold on Garner and the judge's decision was denounced by the president of the police union in New York City.

The city's police commissioner has to make the final call on firing the officer but there is speculation that he will resign before a decision is made later this month.
