FRANCE YELLOW VESTS WEEK 213: MACRON AGENDA GOES FORWARD WITH MASK AND CONDOM DISTRACTIONS, COVID SHOT DEATHS REMEMBERED IN PARIS PROTEST, PROTESTS NATIONWIDE, WORLD CUP FAN DISTURBANCES

For the eight time Constitution Article 49.3 invoked by President Emmanuel Macron's Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.    

Her move on Thursday was to force President Macron's budget through the National Assembly where a majority of members are now from opposition parties.

It was also on Thursday that we learned that President Macron will push a rise in France's retirement age to 65 as part of his "pension reform" plan.

The LFI "Left" Party in France planning a protest march opposing Macron's pension policy on January 21st.

While those matters played out there were distractions to get public attention.

Mr. Macron appearing in public in a mask saying that COVID and other illnesses dictated responsibility and that he was putting a mask on.

Macron suggested that he may even impose a mask order on France.

And another distracting issue that got headline attention on Thursday the announcement by Mr. Macron that free condoms for 18 to 25 year olds will be offered in 2023.    The condoms will be available in pharmacies.

The protest in Besancon near the Swiss border at a traffic circle with a message labeled on the video:

"Until when will you accept the unacceptable"..

Protesters moving through the streets in Marseille this afternoon some of them wearing the iconic Yellow Vests....

Hundreds of protesters seen in Montpellier in southern France today in what was called a "National" protest.   They type protests include the black uniformed black smoke using protesters associated with the anarchists (government agents?)...

Tonight in Paris the streets filled with football (soccer) fans some celebrating French advancement to the quarter finals of the World Cup and others reveling in the Morocco's win that sets up a match with France on Wednesday...

Meanwhile there 42 arrests tonight as some in the massive crowds in and around the Champs Elysees attacked police with projectiles.    Some fires were lit.
