SPECIAL REPORT: DC POLICE SNARL TRAFFIC EVEN MORE ON SECOND DAY OF EXIT BLOCKADES OF PEOPLE'S CONVOY WITH A NEW PLAN FOR THE CONVOY TOMORROW

Fear of The People's Convoy deepened in the nation's capital today with expanded blockades of Interstate 295, 395 and 695 exits in southeast and southwest Washington DC.

For the second day the convoy moved in from the Capital Beltway using the interstate highway network in northern Virginia and the District.

This triggered blockage of highways by police with even more exits involved today and a greater gridlock of traffic.   Dump Trucks were also used in some cases....

"We have to assume it's going to continue at least for the next several days"

That's the word from Chris Rodriguez, director of the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency,

Authorities are claiming their exit blockades are designed to "keep traffic flowing".

A meeting held this evening at the convoy's campsite Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland northwest of Washington.

Word there that leaders of the convoy met with some elected officials in DC today.   Some of the meetings with elected officials were livestreamed.

Also the situation on the highways today discussed as well.   The higher ranking officials who ordered the police to close the highways were called out.

The peaceful nature of the protest emphasized at the meeting this evening.

Word from the meeting that the convoy continues tomorrow with a new plan for its operation.

That plan not revealed tonight it will be revealed tomorrow.

A video including that meeting is below...

                       (COMMENT AND ANALYSIS-SUMMARY)

Working off the lessons of previous protests including most recently the Trucker Freedom Convoy in Ottawa this protest to end federal COVID mandates like vaccine mandates for the military and mask orders in airports along with the continuing COVID State of Emergency at the federal level has carefully treaded water.

That has led to criticism with some going home disillusioned but this has been a continuing carefully orchestrated protest seeking peace not confrontation with authorities.

The People's Convoy says that it wants to talk to all elected officials in Washington regardless of their party affiliation but so far only some Republicans care to listen.

Meanwhile the Democrats in Congress, at the White House and inside City Hall in Washington are putting up walls to the protest in literal ways and in their hearts.

This carefully managed protest continues tomorrow looking for new ways to show its peaceful intent and to show the world who the "extremists" really are.

That would be those who are in positions of power in Washington DC.
