Today police moved to clear the streets around the main parliament lawn centre of the protest-indiscriminately using pepper spray in ways that are illegal, many dressed in riot gear."

THE SCENE ON MOLESWORTH STREET MID-DAY WEDNESDAY 3/2/2022 HOURS AFTER THE POLICE ASSAULT BEGAN ON THE WELLINGTON FREEDOM CAMP PROTEST
The New Zealand Police began their "operation" to end the Freedom Camp protest near Parliament at 6 am Wednesday morning March 2nd, 12 Noon on March 1st in the Eastern US.
Not only was pepper spray used but video has emerged of the beating of a protestor by the police...VIDEO LINK
Protesters were pushed down Molesworth Street for hours before a standoff line stabilized at the middle of Wednesday.
Vehicles brought in by protesters to reinforce their line.

Police intend ultimately to clear the protesters out of the areas near Parliament dozens of vehicles towed today also dozens of arrests.
That was stated at a Wednesday news conference by New Zealand Police Commissioner Andrew Coster...
Here is some live video from the front of Parliament facing into the protest camp provided by the "New Zealand Herald" police appear to be hosing down a fire actually firefighters on the scene and police trying to clear out the tents the camping gear any infrastructure etc. etc....
TV One News saying that fire started just minutes ago claiming protesters were putting items into in essence a bonfire. Talk of an explosion around 340 pm.
THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE ACCORDING TO THE PROTESTERS IS POLICE KNOCKING OVER A GENERATOR AS THEY TRIED TO TEAR DOWN THE PROTEST CAMP IGNITING THE BLAZE..

The fire looks like it's put out at this point.
Police and other people trying to clear the protest camp out removing signs and banners and tents etc. etc,
As mentioned earlier protesters say police knocked a generator over starting a fire. Police now speak of "deliberately set fires".
Of course the question was it actually a protester or someone planted in the protest?
Who knows. More confusion in the whole chaotic situation now seen in Wellington as the police crackdown continues.
Some injured individuals police apparently being brought back towards Parliament from the wooded area nearby where fires broke out in the last hour or two.

Their attire synonymous with anarchists-black blocs etc etc. these individuals off in the distance from Parliament.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern came before the media at 530 pm Wednesday, 1130 pm in the Eastern US.
As she speaks video of the situation near Parliament with water hoses spraying the streets and a crowd in the distance.
This crowd not children and families or the kind of people seen at the protest camp in the last three weeks not those seeking non-violent resistance but more confrontational individuals.

Ardern Mixed With Anarchy
The police now using water hoses against the crowd at Lambton Quay and Bowen Street near the Cenotaph honoring New Zealand's war dead.
A video now posted on Telegram "FreedomConvoyNZ2022" on behalf of the more than three week long peaceful protest now ended saying:

Those people represented by those sentiments now leaving Wellington replaced by the kind of actors we associate with anarchists at the Yellow Vests protests in Paris and of course January 6th.
The police now moving forward to go after the anarchist types on the street. This advance taking place down Bowen St.
The peaceful non violent people who comprised the three week Freedom Camp who are still in the area now off to the side spectators to the spectacle of the January 6th style theater.
Earlier today police arrested 65 people and towed as many as 50 vehicles they say 30 other vehicles left the area voluntarily.
Back on Bowen Street after 615 pm local time, 1215 am in the Eastern US the police said to be employing rubber bullets on those who have thrown objects at them.
The police have also used flash bangs in the last hour as well.
The peaceful protesters left standing over on Lambton Quay while the rowdy people were on Bowen Street.
It does appear as often is the case at peaceful protests that elements of an anarchist nature somehow show up and put on a show.
The government seems to use its undercover forces to stage a show in the vein of January 6th and the create the false narrative.
And already the Speaker of New Zealand's Parliament Trevor Mallard saying a wall will needed around Parliament in the future.
