RUSSIA-UKRAINE: THE MISSING LEADERSHIP OF DONALD TRUMP

                                                          (SPECIAL COMMENTARY)

"...I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP'S RESPONSE TO 'ROCKET MAN' KIM JONG-UN'S STATEMENT ABOUT HAVING A NUCLEAR BUTTON AT HIS DESK-JANUARY 3, 2018

When Donald Trump was in the White House Kim Jong-Un and Vladimir Putin knew where the US stood.

Trump met face to face with both leaders to send them a direct message about the good possibilities for relations with the United States and the bad possibilities.

And when Trump wasn't meeting them he sent the message in other ways including the maximizing of US energy production to make any Russian energy irrelevant to American consumers at the gas pumps and otherwise.

This week Israel's warning about a nuclear Iran in the face of a new nuclear deal with the US and other nations reminds us that nations possessing nuclear weapons create a challenge for nations who are their adversaries.

For the US to deal with nations like North Korea and China and Russia sanctions become one option to deal with them because armed conflict brings the risk of nuclear weapons being used.

There is of course the other option of negotiations or talking which Joe Biden has clearly ruled out with Russia at this time.

Before things could get anywhere near this bad with Russia over Ukraine Donald Trump kept the lines of communication open with Russia even as some sanctions were imposed against it during his presidency.

Trump went face to face with Putin on more than one occasion.

And he was willing to meet Kim Jong-Un multiple times as well alongside the sanctions in force against North Korea.

In the tradition of Ronald Reagan outproducing the Soviet Union in military weaponry and bringing the Cold War to a conclusion, Trump outproduced Russia and Saudi Arabia and the list goes on when it came to oil outflanking their ability to use economic warfare against the United States.

Now that Joe Biden is in the White House the US has been forced to extreme economic warfare against Russia the cancel culture and virtue signaling reaching a new plateau.

Without Trump one wonders whether this plateau will turn out to be the plateau of the mushroom cloud or some other dark plateau of deep economic suffering for the United States and other nations of the world.

Whatever happens next Joe Biden set the stage for it and passing the buck to Vladimir Putin doesn't cut it.

Donald Trump had Russia well in hand before the situation could get anywhere near where things are right now.

Now not only do we have Ukraine where it is right now but Kim Jong-Un is firing off missiles again some eight times since the beginning of this year.

Seeing the missing factor in the current crisis is so obvious its the Trump Factor.
