The French government this week with an eye towards April 10th and the first round of the presidential election laid out a COVID plan for the week ahead.
It involves a tightened vaccine passport in public places starting Monday (January 24th) and a gradual loosening of other measures like the wearing of masks outdoors or standing to drink in a bar.
As France's Constitutional Council validated the vaccine pass approved by lawmakers it prohibited its use in conjunction with political meetings.
Some political personalities like "Les Republicains" presidential candidate Valerie Pecresse had wanted to use the vaccine pass in the name of holding "safe" meetings.
