YELLOW VESTS PROTEST IN PARIS JULY 3, 2021
France moving forward from the regional election results with the media talking points emphasizing the results as bad news for both President Emmanuel Macron and his primary political opponent National Rally leader Marine Le Pen. The two are the top vote getters in polling for the final round of the Presidential Election next year.
Another politician is being promoted heavily for President of France. He is the leader of the country's northern region Xavier Bertrand. Bertrand a "Mainstream" politician of the "Right" led his group to success in the Hauts de France region.
Polling has been done showing Bertrand a shoo in to beat Marine Le Pen in a final Presidential election round while polling has shown a much tighter race between incumbent Emmanuel Macron and Le Pen.
A big new issue in the media crosshairs is the large number of voters who chose to stay home in the regional elections. That way of voting or in reality not voting seemed to help "Les Republicans" and hurt the National Rally....FRANCE 24
When it comes to COVID-19 the government wants to move forward with vaccination. Premier Jean Castex sees the need to force the issue at the very least wanting to make vaccination mandatory for health care workers-caregivers in long-term facilities. Legislation is on its way.
