Last weekend we learned of the passing of Kris Kristofferson and his career of singing, songwriting and acting remembered by many for me Kristofferson represented a religious subculture of the early 1970's that I wasn't sure about.
I guess that's because Johnny Cash sang one of Kristofferson's greatest songs.
Cash was really in thick of it close to Dr. Billy Graham and activities like Explo 72 that massive youth evangelism event in Dallas back in those days.
I would be estranged from it until my "student evangelism" days.

Barbra Streisand sings "Avinu Malkeinu" which translated from Hebrew is "Our Father, Our King" a song associated with these Jewish Holy Days from Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur that we now find ourselves in.
It's a song of repentance which is my theme in the year since October 7th I guess I wanted to run a victory lap of sorts prior to last October 7th celebrating a liberation from my Nazi past between the ages of 10 and 13.
I actually posted this on the weekend before October 7th, 2023 the "Unplugged" September 30th post as I traveled in Upstate New York and Western Pennsylvania.

I had to go through the last year of my life to embrace the sober mature adult connection with My Creator.
I gave up the adult beverages 51 years ago and inhaling paint thinner but the intoxication of sex with myself finally free Thank You Jesus.
This year some meaningful changes that come with surrender to the Higher Power.
Back in those days I got 'saved' but I got confused into thinking getting 'saved' was a destination when it's actually a journey. Still a child and would be childlike for decades to come.
